Back from 1st time at the Poly...

sersee05, wish I had known you were there! We could have said "hi"...

Not only my 1st time at the Poly, but first time at a Monorail resort. It was fantastic. We were on the 1st floor of Rapa Nui. We loved the location. Very short walk to the Ceremonial House, and short walk to TTC. Excellent!

I took my DIL and GD, and we all loved it there. The grounds are beautiful, the room and bathroom very spacious.

We had dinner at Kona Cafe twice...oh my...the ginger crusted prime rib is awesome!!! As was all of the food there. Also ate breakfast there 2 times...very good.

I have to say I was a bit disappointed with the offerings at Capt. Cooks. I really expected more of a "dinner menu". To me it seems as if the moderate resorts have more offerings, such as pasta, etc.

The entire staff was friendly and helpful.

Would I stay there again? In a heartbeat!!!

Loved the F&W Festival (my first time), Tokyo Dining...so fresh and yummy. And my first time at Calif. Grill...table right at the window..awesome! Food and service was excellent (our server's name was Taz....he was fantastic!). If you like beets, order the beet salad. It was something to write home about!

Weather just perfect all week, only one cloudy/cooler day, other than that warm and sunny.

After losing my husband last Dec. this was a much needed vacation. My DIL and GD had me laughing until my sides hurt.

So glad you had a great trip and enjoyed the Poly (although we now stay moderate all of the time, we love the Poly). I'm sorry about your husband, but glad that your DIL and GD made your trip fun for you.

I am so happy to hear that you had a wonderful time. It's nice to hear that you and your DIL get along so well. Wish I could have that with my m-i-l. A new chapter for you and your family has begun. Best wishes to you.

3DOGMOM,
I'm sorry for your loss, but i'm glad you had a great time with your DIL and GD. I have a very good relationship with my DIL too. I also agree with you about the Poly. It is my favorite resort, but the weak link (for me) is Capt. Cooks. It is too small, the menu is short and not my style, and it smells like something is burning all the time. I hate the touch screens and it seems like I'm in line for hours. Reciently we have been doing a split stay between Pop and the Poly and we have gotten spoiled on Pop's food court. I hope you are planning your next trip to the Poly!

Now that's two ends of the spectrum I've stayed Pop many times but never Poly, but one day...

Thank you. I have to re-size my picture of them. I do not know what my life would be without them. They give me love...companionship....

I cannot express how much I love my DIL and GD. They made the trip so much fun for me.
