Why do they ask, "What will you celebrate?"

DH just made reservations for next year, and the reservationist asked if we would be celebrating anything special on our trip. He said the trip is to celebrate our daughter's graduation. Will they do anything with that information? I mean, does someone say congratulations when we check in or give her a button or anything? I just wonder why they ask.

I know for b/d's they do, esp @ restaurants, so I'm pretty sure they will mention it. (you may have to ask for your button?!)

I have a feeling that somewhere along the line your will get a Happy Graduation. Enjoy your trip.

Because of the "what will you celebrate promo" . it may get you some well wishes or pixe dust or maybe nothing. The cms ask because they have to

We got a couple of personalised menus from Yachtsmen and Citricos, and also a card and some special desserts from Boma as I'd put on our ADRs we were celebrating our engagement anniversary. A few other places would say "Happy Anniversary" to us when they saw it on the reservation slip, and lots of CMs said it to us when we were walking about with our badges on as well; so I'd guess you would get something mentioned if you have put it on your reservation.

It's the only way to get that very special button.

I was asked that too, it's our first trip...well I was there in 1982 when I was 10 but that doesnt' count...it's DD4's first trip. Someone said she'd get some pixie dust...not sure where or when though?

Thanks. I'll guess we'll just see what happens. I'm so glad we get to go, that any buttons, well wishes, or anything else will be gravy.

When they ask me I've toyed with the idea of saying "30 minutes sober" just to see what I might get.

When they asked me that question, I said, "Um.. we're coming on the anniversary of my mom's passing, so I guess we're celebrating not being at home miserable and sad. Uh, how 'bout we just say 'life'?"

She didn't know quite what to say... I really didn't either, obviously.

I told them we were celebrating our last trip where the baby is free at disney! The CM laughed when I told her we were sneaking the trip in 2 weeks before his 3rd and my 30 something birthday (he was my birthday surprise - no greater gift that a healty baby!). She said a baby still being under 3 is very good reason to celebrate at Disney....and very good on our wallet!

Last time we went I told them my DH was celebrating that he just quit his job. Didn't get any well wishes or pixe dust. Oh well.
