Adding days to older passes

My husband and I are going to WDW four five days later this month, we have non expiring tickets that have three days left, can we add days to this ticket or do we have to purchase new ones for the other two days? We are staying on property if that matters.

No, you may not add days to those tickets. Even with the no-expiry option, tickets may only be modified within 14 days of first use.

>>> ... do we have to purchase new ones ...

If you plan on or need to purchase new ones, it is more cost effective to buy the new ones for the whole vacation (if more than 3 days total) and not use up the old ones yet.

For the kids.
Teacher calls on you to come up front and read your composition or essay out loud and a classmate just read his about the same subject.
Read yours from start to finish without regard to what your classmate said.

I suspect many guests make this mistake when buying tickets with NE.

You really do need to look very closely at the cost of the NE option, and whether or not it is cost effective. There are many instances where NE costs more than if you had purchased separate tickets. The rule of thumb tends to be, if you can not use the NE ticket for 2 or more visits without the need to purchase more days, it will most likely cost you more when you add the cost to buy additional tickets, compared to the cost to buy them separate.
