Unhappy Flower & Garden Dates????

Did anyone notice the dates? We planned our trip assuming the Festival would run through the end of May as previous years. Now, it ends in the middle!!! As it stands now, we will only be there for two days - one is travel and one we had planned a big celebration dinner (V&A??) And both are weekend.

Now we must decide whether to change our dates or miss the F&G.

Looks like I'll be there the same time. I arrive on the 15th too.

I plan on hitting EPCOT at least one of the days and just concentrating on the Flower and Garden stuff. I'd prefer to spread it out over other days and I'd love to see more then just one performer but we're just stuck with the dates Disney decided on.

It used to be that late May was great. You'd get both the Flower and Garden Festival and the Star Wars Weekends. Now nothing is happening.

I planned out trip so that we could go to Star Wars weekend and see the end of the F&G festival. Now it doesn't look like we will get either . It doesn't look like there will be anything going on when we are there. I would not normally plan a vacation durring the really hot times of the year. I won't change my plans now, but I am not happy. I wonder if this has anything to do with Disney saving money?

We will be there the last 5 days of the Festival. I'm happy we'll get a chance to see some of it. I thought we would have it everyday of our trip, but not this year.

Wow, I hadn't expected the dates to start so early. We always catch this because we always go for 2 weeks the end of April into May, so we will be there then, but we are also going the first week of March and will be there will it begins, so we get to see the concerts twice, (waiting for the line up announcement) and staying at BCV and BWV makes it even easier.

Too Hot to keep it going as long...

I don't know where I heard or read this, and I don't know if it was official or just speculation... (how's that for reliable information )

Any way I saw somewhere that Disney moved F&G to earlier in the year because the heat by the end of May makes it very difficult to keep the topiary displays and flowers looking good.

I'm actually relieved they moved up the dates. I'm getting married at Disney on 3/12 and when trying to convince my dad that a destination wasn't so bad, I told him all about F&G. Being a landscape architect, I think this was the final selling point. After all of the big promises of flower glory, I looked at the '09 dates and freaked out because it started the day we're leaving! Luckily they've moved it up, so it will be going the entire time we're there.

I kinda sorta think maybe I heard that, too.

We caught the last day of it this past May. Everything was still up. Most of it was gone when we went back to Epcot 2 days later. I can understand about the heat though. The day we went it was in the high 90s!

VERY disappointed. We booked our first May trip ever in 2010... and we arrive on the LAST DAY of the Festival. :/

I booked our trip around the dates. I wanted to go at the end of May, but moved it up so we'd be there for Flower and Garden. We're going May 12-18.

We have always avoided Epcot on weekends during special events - but I guess we'll just have to suck it up and do it! We actually arrive Friday, but were not planning on doing any parks - so Saturday and Sunday we'll focus on F&GF.
