iPhone -- really?

Interesting read....I'm not saying I agree with it, but I do find it over-hyped. But I also can't stand the Apple commercials with PC vs. Mac. They blatantly lie and give out false information. That said, I do like my Mac Book Pro, but I also love my PCs just as much. (Job security)

Who needs it for a phone anyway, they should change it to iMobileMac

Interesting. My Blackberry is an excellent phone and a pretty good mobile computer. With that said, I may get an Iphone as a second line just because it seems like a fun device to have.

I'm in a similar boat, I love my blackberry but would access to more apps. Blackberry apps are getting better however.

The thing I love best about the iPhone is the thing that first attracted me to it. I can take my phone and ipod places and only have to carry one thing.

I also love the apps, which I didn't even know about when I got the thing.

Checking email and having portable internet access is just icing on the cake.

Too funny....

"I think I'm going to hate the iPhone......but I want one."

"It's horrible at handling calls....but I want one."

"The battery life is terrible.....but I want one."

"it's an Apple product and Steve Jobs is evil incarnate....but I want one."

"If you drop it, it breaks and it's expensive to replace....but I want one."

"My XXXXX phone can do nuclear particle physics and create world peace.....but I want one.

"It doesnt fold my laundry or take the lint out of the dryer filter.....but I want one."

The Collective even accepts the dissenters.

Welcome to the world of iPhone.

Jimmy Buffet has a song..."If the Phone Doesnt Ring, It's Me".

Maybe he means the iPhone.....but he wants one.

That sums it up for me. Although I'm still riding the fence. Do I really want one or just think I want one, is there a difference?

That fence thing is bad for you.

I'm getting the Droid tomorrow. Not as great as the iPhone but Verizon's network is so much better than AT&Ts.

Not from my experience. I hated Verizon's "Network".

Beware the iHandcuffs

Yes it's a "wall'd garden" but my iPhone has enabled me to consolidate several different devices. Its my:

1: music player
2: video player
3: alarm clock
4: Auto Navigation (GPS)
5: E-mail client
6: internet browser
7: Pedometer
8: digital camera
9: video camera
10: PHONE

and the list could go on. Its not for everyone but I couldn't imagine having anything else.

Nationally, Verizon's network is better in most places. Near Atlanta, it is definitely far superior to AT&T.

I agree with Matt. Verizon is VASTLY superior where I live, and I will be upgrading to a Droid later this month when my contract is up. I especially love the QWERTY keyboard, have never been a big fan of touch-screen phones for texting or email. Love the keyboard.

But I am a TOTAL convert on Macs...don't even own one yet but can't wait to get one when my next desktop inevitably fails. HATE Windows with a passion. Apple has converted me, sight unseen, to a Mac.

If Verizon offered an iPhone I might consider it, but I think the Droid is a very good alternative, and even superior in some ways.
