Wife just said "Lets Go See the Lights!!"

Amazing. After our rain soaked May trip, my wife wanted a break for at least a year. Last night, she asked if we could go down just before Thanksgiving for a few days to soak in the Christmas spirit. We really don't need to spend the money right now, but who cares??

We are going to make this a very frugal trip since we have already been earlier in the year. Hotel via Priceline - expect to pay $40/night for a 3-3 1/2 start hotel. Tickets - we both have them for this trip (I have an AP that expires 12/12). Food - careful choices both in & out of WDW. We will not eat any table service on property, and we may take breakfast items with us since we drive down.

Touring - lots of looking and watching with a moderate concern for attractions. No rushing around allowed. This should be a blast.

That sounds like so much fun! I'd love to do the same, but it's DD's last year in high school and her basketball coach isn't keen on them missing practice. Have a blast!

We must have been there the same time in May, so I know how you feel. We have scheduled our "re-do" vacation for the first week of March. Have a great time!

Ha sounds like what happened in our house a couple of weeks ago! We used some points to book our hotel for free (POR) and got a sweet airfare deal ($69 ea way). Waiting to see how our disney card points will help us with other items. We also did a rain soaked trip in May lol.

Another very wet May tripper here... we're doing our redo trip next week!! We arrive on Saturday... and of course, now I'm starting to hear about a hurricane?!?! Every amusement park we've gone to this year, we've had rain! I guess we're used to it by now! At least I am now an expert on how to be prepared!!

Hi OB1,
That is great news. Sometimes not having as much planned to do can lead the way to finding many new things you never had the time to discover before. The weather started to cool down this week with no rain so we will try and keep it that way for you!Have a wonderful time.

I'm having flashbacks!! Our Disney Honeymoon May 17th-22!! ARRRGGHHHHHHHH!!!! Good news, we had a "makeup" mini-moon during Food and Wine a couple of weeks ago (The FIRST thing I packed this time was umbrellas and rain jackets!! ), and the weather was B-U-TI-FUL!!!! Here's hoping that everyone who is doing make-up trips from last May, that the good weather's follows you!!

OP: Sometimes the more "frugal" trips, are the best and most romantic! Hope you and your wife have a wonderful trip!

Have a great time!!! I can't imagine "taking a break from Disney World" on purpose unless I HAD to, but I'm glad your wife had a change of heart. There certainly isn't a better time to do it! Enjoy!!! I bet you'll both want to go again next year at this time!

Look on the budget board. Comfort suites at LBV are going for 29 dollars a night.

That is when we were there. But your honeymoon!!! Glad you got a mini makeup trip in.

Lets hope all of us going in the next few weeks have great weather. I see the forecast for 10 days calls for 80s during the day. A few chances of rain, but not continuous days. Keeping my fingers crossed that the weather pattern holds.

Yeah, can't say it was a "sucky" honeymoon, because I was with my new hubby, and we managed to make our own fun! but the weather definitely sucked. So many things got cancelled...our first night of Wishes, our Honeymoon photo shoot, Our Epcot photo shoot...ug!

That's the same forecast we got a couple of weeks ago....nary a cloud in site! Doing the Banana no-rain dance for you
