Where to stay and what are my chances?
Planning a trip late November, early December 2010 with family. We will need a 2 bdrm and a studio. With only the 7 month booking option, SSR is our home resort, where do you think I will have the best chance of getting in? AKV or BCV? If it just so happens that by some miracle there is room at both which would you choose? We have never stayed at either.

I'm assuming that you intend to stay at both AKV and BCV sooner or later, so does it really matter which one you stay at first? Each resort has its highlights and advantages, so a lot depends on what you hope to do during the trip. BCV has a really great pool (the consensus pick for best pool at WDW), so if you are planning on having a lot of pool time, then BCV. Personally, if I was planning trips to AKV and BCV, I might save BCV for a warmer time of year. If you like watching animals, then AKV should be your choice. Name another resort in the U.S. where you can watch African animals from your balcony.
Bottom line: you are in a win-win situation with either resort.

Be sure you make backup reservations at your home resort at exactly the 11 month booking window. Then when the 7 month window rolls around, you can see what's available and change if there is something. Don't wait until 7 months though, because you could miss out completely.

AKV should have a better chance but the info posted above makes a lot of sense.

Agree, AKV will be MUCH easier to book considering the huge size difference over BCV. I think you have a decent shot at getting it but make sure you're on the phone at the 7 month window. Odds are you might have to waitlist at least part of your trip. Best of luck!
