is there a chance you could call the CRO or resort and find out where they have you put?

CRO does not make the room assignments, that is done at the resort. They will not disclose where they have placed you as it may change before you arrive. Room assignment is constantly changing depending on how busy it is or what is going on.

They will not give you your room number even when your waiting for your room to be vacated and cleaned.
All has to do with security .
Just have to wait till they give you your key to the world.
But you can request and ask what is available in certain areas of the resort when you check in, and most of the time they will honor your request . As long as it's in your cat.

Not exactly. You can get your KTTW when you check in even if your room isn't available. We've done this several time in the past. We checked in early in the morning, got our KTTW cards and went off to a park. In the afternoon, we called the telephone number they gave us at check in and they told us our room number so we could go straight to our room when we got back to the resort.

If the check-in system had issues verifying your CC on-line, will they even have your KTTW cards ready? I'll just have to give the card to them in person. I just picture US being the "ones" in line that held everyone else up.

We got our KTTW cards at early check-in without using the on-line system. It really shouldn't matter at all.

Just to add to what wdwrich said ...

You don't need a credit card to check-in ... EVER! They will ask if you want to use a credit card to secure room charging privileges or to secure Express Check-out, but there is no requirement that you have a credit card "on file" in order to check-in to a WDW resort.

If you booked a package, you hotel bill is already paid in full by 45 days prior to the trip. If you booked a room-only reservation, payment is due at time of check-in, and that payment can be made with cash, credit cards, Disney gift cards, travelers checks ... no plastic required.

I personally like having some CC on there just for express check-out. So I'll get it taken care of upon check-in. they sure do make you think you HAVE to have it. I remember the days where I couldn't rent a room w/o one. Not at WDW, elsewhere.

Don't forget about paying the 1st night deposit which can be paid in full right away over the phone or a short time after the reservation is made before a deadline.

My mistake in defining KTTW. They will give you the key for parks and charging, but you can not find out your room number until you are allowed to occupy it. Hope that clears it up. Sorry.
