Where to stay, where to stay....
DH and I are going in OCT 2010 for F&W. It will be in celebration of our anniversary (9/5).
We plan to spend most of our time at Epcot and AK with a visit to MK for dinner & Wishes! We stayed with the kids at POFQ this summer, and he LOVED it. He really wants to stay there again. I like POFQ a lot too so I don't mind it but is there another option? Should we look at staying at Swan/Dolphin? I can't get past the heavenly beds. But do you still have the feeling of Disney magic when you stay there? Our trip this summer was DHs 1st VACATION at Disney and he completely fell in love and was very much felt the magic. I want to make sure we feel that again. We're moderate budget folks and I just took a lesser paying job to give me less stress and more time with my kids so we are still learning to live on less. HELP!!!

If you guys really liked POFQ, why not try POR? Same price, similar feel, and you can use the pools and food court at POFQ if you like.

I am a stay at home mom so money is an issue with me as well. With that said, we stayed at the Value our last time there and we'd do it again. our kids love it. Now if we weren't going with kids, I'd really prefer to stay elsewhere but I wouldn't. We literally only sleep at the hotel and so I'd rather spend my money elsewhere than on the hotel. Just my two cents.

being FL Ressies the deals do help make the MODS affordable. DH is 6'2'' and a big construction worker, i just want him to be comfy while on his vacation. I stayed at POR with my parents in Oct 07 and i LOVED it. Being at POFQ this summer and watching the transportation issues as we went through the stops, DH said he'd not like to stay there. We walked over one day for lunch and swimming at the swimming hole and he flat out said he didn't feel like that property was something he'd enjoy. So that's a "Nope", but I do love the mansions, they are beautiful!

The Coronado (CSR), a moderate, now has queen size beds in all rooms (unless it is a king bed). DH and I have celebrated both of our 50th birthdays, my successful cancer surgery and our 25th anniversary there.

If you are going primarily for the Food and Wine Festival, an Epcot area resort is a must! I have done this the last two years and it is so convenient to be able to walk over to Epcot at a moment's notice for the food, beverages and events associated with the festival.
If a Disney resort is not within the budget, definitely see what is available at Swan or Dolphin. The prices are more moderate and the location can't be beat! |

Here's another vote for the Coronado. It looks very nice. They have upgraded all of the rooms recently. I have never stayed there but in your situation with just adults I think it would be nice.

Just to throw another mod into the mix, how about CBR? POFQ is our favorite mod, but I put CBR closely behind. It is different in it's own way and VERY Disney. DW and I took our honeymoon there in 2001 and have been back many times since. Whatever you decide, have a great trip and glad your husband has felt the magic of Disney.

Another vote for the CBR. The resort is absolutely beautiful and tropical. It's like having a beach vacation and a Disney vacation all rolled into one. The resort is centrally located so it won't take you long to reach any Disney destination.
We love it so much we are booked for our 5th stay there in 2010. I have lots of pictures and a review of the CBR in my trip report. The link is in my signature.

For the ability to walk to Epcot & HS, staying at the Epcot Resort area can't be beat.Returning after Illuminations to the BW or your room is 10 minutes. If the budget is tight I would definitely look at the S&D.Remember you will not have the ability to charge to your room key,(don't know about ADRs )but I think you get the EMHs

PS If ur trying to please ur DH and it's just the 2 of u, I do not recommend doing a Value. My DH Hated it there, not romantic at all. We're also on a budget and u can get great deals at the mods. We paid $96 a night with a code for our trip.
