How does the rain afffect the animals at AK? :((>?

We are headed to WDW on 7 Nov - 14 Nov the forcast calls for rain from Mon- Thurs. My kids absolutely loved the safari last time we went and I was wondering how the rain might affect them. Do they go into hiding? Will our whole trip be ruined or when it says 60% chance of showers does that mean they come and go? Please any answers would help.

I have never been there when it was raining, but we were when it was below freezing, and there were still animals out. My guess would be that there would not be as many out, but there will be some.

They go crazy. The lions usually wake up and start pacing. The elephant like to go in their wading pool for a swim- the little ones will squirt water at each other from their trunks, way cute. The antelope in the large savannah sometimes run after each other a bit. It's a great time to go on, but wear a poncho! There is an overhead canopy, but it doesn't protect the sides. The wind will sweep the rain in. If the weather is really bad, the driver may be focusing more on the driving and less on the spiel, but the view is worth it. I can't guarantee that it's like this every single time it rains, but I have had my fair share of rides in the rain

DH and me went last May and it rained the whole week we were there
The day we went to AK it POURED all day. The upside was we walked onto every ride (rode EE 4 times). The downside was there were NO animals on the safari. None. I felt bad for the CM since he didn't have anything to talk about. It wasn't cold, just pouring rain all day.
However, you know when it's beautiful out and then just rains for like an hour then the sun comes out again? Normal Orlando weather? Well I rode in 2003 during that kind of rain and there were more animals then than I have EVER seen in my life. Go figure...

I just saw the weather question. Know that what I went through last May was VERY unusual. Disney was underneath a tropical depression for a week. The norm in Orlando is getting a shower in the middle of the day with sun the rest of the time. Don't worry. You'll have fun and the weather will work out.

Totally agree here. It seems that EVERY time we go to AK it rains to some degree. Each time we have made sure to do the Kilimanjaro Safari because a CM told us that he rain brings the animals out. We have seen more animals out during the rain than when the weather is beautiful.
