where to buy a swimsuit?

This may not be the right place to post this, but I'm wondering if there is anywhere in or around Anaheim that sells kids swimsuits. Preferably somewhere where I won't get sticker shock

My DD9 reminded me tonight that her swim suit is very worn out and we leave in 3 days! Since it's already snowed here I'm not going to find anything in a store before I leave.

Did you check your local team sport stores? Like Sports Authority or Dick's? What about scuba shops or PADI instruction places in your area? If you're near SLC, then there are a few nearby.

I wouldn't take valuable trip time to go on a swimsuit hunt unless you knew for sure that they were available, it was really, really nearby and the size was available. Park time = GOLD!

I have checked one local sports store, but I should probably check another. I'm actually hoping that her swim suit holds up but trying to find an option if it doesn't.

This is a great idea . I would also check shops that cater to the local swim teams. You will have to spend more than expected for a swim team type suit, but it might be worth it. I would also let my fingers do the walking and call the places in advance. My DD started swim team at 5, so there are suits that are small enough for kids.

Land's End also has some really cute suits on sale now:

They have an "Express UPS AM delivery" which might make it in time.

Isn't there a Target and a Kmart close to DL? You might be able to find one on a clearance rack!

JCPenney dot com has some in their outlet, but very limited selection.

Good luck! Hubby had to use the JCP option for a September trip. I tried to find something else, in San Diego, during a later in the year trip and there was NOTHING. I'm sure if I'd wanted to spend $100 I could have gone to a shop on/near the beach, but I wasn't that desperate.

But even that trip, Target had absolutely nothing, not even in San Diego.

And alternatively, it's almost impossible to find winter coats during the summer when planning for an AK cruise!

but if Land's End has them and her suit is THAT worn out, overnight shipping....

There's a Target and Ross in the area on Harbor. There use to be a Mervyn's on Harbor too, but I forgot to check if it too has turned into a Kohl's store. If Target is out of season, Ross is usually good about stocking out of season and obscure items. If you have time check out both. There's also either a TJ Max or Marshall's, think it's Marshall's in Fullerton which is also in the area.

Ross:
13200 Harbor Blvd
Garden Grove, CA
(714) 636-1123

Target:
12100 Harbor Blvd
Garden Grove, CA 92840
(714) 971-4826

If you go to Target, be sure to stop by the $0.99 cent store that is next door, you won't find a swimsuit but it's a pretty cool store!

One more thing ... I bought a swimsuit two weeks ago at Sears here in Wisconsin. It has a BIG Land's End section and had a bunch of stuff 70% off including swim wear. I went to my other Sears to see what they had but they had very little Land's End merchandise. So, if your local Sears has a big LE selection they might have some summer clearance left over.

The stores around here have summer clearance in August, it never made sense to me. When we went on our trip to Lake Tahoe the first week in August we couldn't find a swim suit because everything was on clearance and selection was horrible.

I'm going to call a few sports stores today and if I can't find anything I might order something and have it delivered to the hotel or check out Ross in Anaheim.

Thanks for the ideas!

Another thing to think about is to just let her take some old shorts and a dark tee shirt, she can wear that in the pool. We had to do that once for our girls. Or she can wear the suit and wear a tee over it. I would try Target, but it's hard to say if they will have any left, our local Target doesn't but we aren't in Anaheim....

APs expired 1-3-2010, the girls are still good until 2-6-2010 but we have no plans for a visit before they expire. No plans for our next visit, it will be 2011 or 2012 before we head back. We've had fun DLR/DCA, we will miss you while we are gone. We took 14 trips from July 07-July 08 and around 16 from Jan 09-Jan 10.

One more option is to check at one of the Disneyland Resort itself or maybe Downtown Disney. I know the resorts at WDW carry swimsuits year-round.

Downtown Disney

There is that shop (Cant remember the name) between Disney 365 and World of Disney Store in DTD that will have those. We got flip flops for a pretty good price. They sell skate and surf type clothing.

I know that Dick's Sporting Goods at the Gateway has swimwear right now. I saw a bunch last week.
