Help with formats and downloads please! - The DIS Discussion Forums

O.k., so I feel like a newbie...
I usually spend way too much money on adorable outfits off of e-bay, but it simply isn't in the budget. To be honest now that I found you guys, I wouldn't waste it, all of your designs are AMAZING!!! So, the truth is I don't have a creative bone in my body and I have been relying on everyone to help with that, and you certainly have come through. Now what?

I'm not sure what is next...where should I order the iron on transfers from and how do I get my image off of my computer screen and onto the transfer?

This my be a simple thing, and if so, sorry. I'm not very good with your computers.

Get your transfers from Amy Mickey. www.amymickey.com

Here trasnfers are dark transfers so anywhere that is white on the image will stay white when you transer it to a t-shirt so it is best to you images that have blocks or circles around them as they are easier to cut out than individual letters.

How to save images from photoshop is very important and most newbies mess this up by saving the thumbnail image. Here is how to save them correctly:

If you find your images in photobucket...the first image that you see is a thumbnail image. You will have to click on that image to open up a second larger version. The second image is still not large enough. If you waive your mouse over the image...some gray buttons will appear at the top of the picture. Click on the button on the far left that says something like "full size" or "high resolution". Then the image should open up for a third time. This image is the highest resolution image and is the one that you will want to save to your "pictures".

Once you save the image I would suggest opening up a word document and insert the image/picture into Word. Then you can resize it if needed to print. Then follow the instructions that come with Amy Mickey's transfer paper and you will have some fun family t-shirts. Hope that answers your questions.
