DVC Question

For those DVC owners ( and I know there a few of them in here) and those who have rented points, have you ever been waitlisted for a room before?

Currently, I have an owner who is ready and willing to rent me points for both my parent's room and a room for myself and DF at either the boardwalk or the beachclub for the wedding.

We've been waitlisted a week now, and she says to not give up hope, that she calls a number of times a day to keep on top of it and see if there have been any changes.

I'm just wondering, at what point do we move on and try another resort? How likely is it we are going to get a room, is waitlisting fairly normal?

We really want to stay at BWV or BCV since they are both close to SBP, but I'm getting nervous.

I just told her today about my nerves and asked if she has ever been waitlisted for a room before but thought I'd ask in here too since of course I'm impatient.

I think it depends on the popularity of the room you are wait listed for. We are currently wait listed for a MK view at BLT (our home resort) and have been for months. We are now 2 months away and still have the same view we booked back in February (standard).

You can book another resort and then if your wait list comes through change over to that room. At least this way you have a reservation.

Toni-
I'm just curious...I know you're going in Jan, right? So, do you mean you couldn't get the room you wanted at BLT your home resort at your 11 month mark?
We're BLT too, so I was just wondering....

Thanks!

Actually no. I called out in April for the MK room. I was able to get a standard room easy. I just forgot I could bank my points for a MK room until later like a big dummy. It will work out better though because we are probably going for New Years Eve next year and I need all the points I can get. LOL

Oops! LOL...so if you had banked, you would have been ok with the MK View? At least like me, you're learning as you go!
Ahhhh...yes! There is certainly a lot of learnin' to do for us newbie DVCers! I was never good at math either!

I am totally overwhelmed just thinking about modifying our ressies for next year at our 7 month mark to hopefully get a different resort!

Ok, back to wedding/bridal tawk..

Sorry all! Just had to have that little side convo with Toni

Normally I would say not to worry, but the weekend in question is a holiday weekend.

It is very likely you will get a room, but to be safe I would have the owner book a room for you at your third choice and keep you on the waitlist.

With the current rules an owner is only allowed to have two waitlists at a time. If you are waitlisted for a BWV the likelyhood is even more slim due to the limited number of rooms. However, I have had waitlist come through in the last month.

Best of luck with your room waitlist and your wedding planning.
