Electrical Water Pageant-worth it and from where at CR?
I'm going to be at WDW in late January and early February with my friend/co-worker (no kids). On Wednesday, 1/27 we have ressies at Cali Grill at 6 and we plan to watch Wishes at 8. Looks like the pageant will be going by CR a little after 10? I've wanted to see it but just never had the chance - I like to get my full 10 hours
of sleep in and Thursday is an early day for us so is the EWP worth the wait? Ideas on what to do around CR for an hour or so? Best place to watch/photograph EWP from CR? And do the buses run to DD so we can get back to our resort after 10? Thank you for any help!

I don't remember the exact quote (sadly) but this has been described here to a T as "electrified Lite Brites floating to Casio keyboard music." Plink-plunk plink plunk....
We saw it in September and it was truly bizarre - really low-tech and weird. I can't believe they haul this thing out every night! It might be worth hanging around just to see it once, but if you're expecting Spectro-Magic production values you'll really be disappointed. |

I would not go out of my way to see it. We only watched it because we stayed at the Polynesian. A toddler might find it exciting.

We love it, but it's not the height of technology, that's for sure. We have timed things to coincide with the viewing of it.
I might disagree with the PP who says it's not worth an hour wait, it depends on what you're doing while you're waiting! If you can have a drink in the canyon at the CR, or play some games in the arcade, or explore the resort in general, then it's a fun way to spend an evening. Because we go every year, we always try to do new and different things. They may not all be the height of wonderfulness, but they are fun to do. Definitely something you should see at least once. Another idea - take the monorail over to the Polynesian, it starts over there and you won't have to wait around. |

To me it's worth it because it's been a family tradition every time we goto WDW.

. The EWP is fine to watch if you have never seen it before, if you want to wait an hour to watch it then there are some really great shops that you can go to in CR to waist some time, or there is a really nice lounge there too on the concourse. In all fairness, my kids like to watch EWP, but we don't go out of our way to see it, if we happen to be in a spot where we can watch it, we will watch for a few minutes.

Go to Youtube and watch for yourself, it's a little hard to see when being filmed from shore by tourists but you'll get the point.

Thankfully a classic that Disney hasn't axed. It's not awe inspiring but some of the best memories I have of Walt Disney World is watching this with my family.

Thanks everyone for the info - I think we'll chance it. Hang around CR to shop and play than check it out!

For us it is part of the family memories of staying at one of the monorail or WL resorts. Not high tech but creates lasting memories and smiles...and you can use it to tell what time it is depending on the resort you are staying at.

I love it for what it is...a throw back to simpler times before our entertainment was computer generated, digital and impersonal. Frankly, I am amazed that some Disney MBA hasn't decided to ax it as it doesn't generate direct revenues. But that would be a huge loss IMHO. Nothing better for me than ending my day either watching it from the beach at FW or listening to the music as I go about my evening in the resort.
