Room Only Res...and then a package?
I need some advice how to approach something.
We have a room only reservation for 11/20, and we will be checking in very late, probably after midnight. Then, our package starts on the 21st (tix, meals, etc). I just spoke with a CM at DW and they said that I have to check in on the 20th, then come back downstairs on the 21st, check out and check back in. Now the whole point of getting a room only res for the 20th was so that we didn't have to stay offsite one night, and then go check in the next morning. If I call the resort a few days ahead of time and explain this, is there any chance that we can just do everything when we check in on the 20th and get to stay in the same room? |

I've done this before at locations other than Disney. It should only involve changing over paperwork. Most hotels I've done this at have tried really hard to keep us in the same room.
Call Disney and have the CMs make a note that you are continuing on at that hotel. They should be able to make accomodations for you to stay where you are. |

The CM said she was making a note that we had continuing reservations. But I wonder if faxing/emailing the POP would help anymore?

We did this, when you check in on the 20th make sure they know that you have another reservation beginning the next day, we were able to keep the same room but you will still need to check out and check back in again. Are both ressies the same room category?

Call again to confirm your reservation 10 days from your arrival and remind them that you will be continuing on in the hotel.
Remind them again when you check in to the hotel and ask them what you will need to do in order to stay in the same room. You should be okay... it's not like they're going to run out of rooms!!! (and if they tell you that... oh boy) |

Yes, both ressies are in the same category. And yes, I don't think they'll run out of rooms. The CM said that she showed plenty of availability.
So should I do online checkin for both nights, or just for the second reservation? |

Personally I would wait until you get there to check-in. I'm a big fan of doing business in person PLUS you'll be able make arrangements for the "weird" days.
