Juat back from SSR
We returned on Friday from a 9 night stay at SSR.We were in studio 5636 in the Paddocks, overlooking the pool. We always request the Paddock area, in either of the buildings next to the quiet pool. That area is great because it is a quick walk over the bridge to the main pool and Artists Palette, and just a few steps to the Paddock bus stop, very handy going to or from the parks.
Highlights: 1. It was so nice to sit out on our balcony and hear the music from the quiet pool. Very relaxing. 2. Buses ran just fine. Waits were minimal except one time coming back from DHS. Another shout out for the Paddock location-you always get a seat! 3. We love Turf Club-ate there twice on this trip. We love sitting on the patio in the evening - one complaint-why do people with small children think that because they are eating outside it is okay to let their children run around, and scream? I cannot imagine the wait staff and how they deal with walking around the kids running around the patio at Turf Club. 3. High Rock Pool was wonderfully relaxing as always. Kids and adults seem to enjoy the wide variety of pool games and we enjoyed watching. 4. Since we had been there in March they have set up a wait line queue so that the next person goes to the next available cashier vs the willy-nilly way it was before. It worked very well. Lowlights: 1. Some touch up is needed at SSR. In our unit the knob to the closet had paint chips and the TV cabinet did not close properly. One of the drawers in the cabinet did not pull out properly either. None of these were big issues but put together they show a need for a little TLC. 3. The boat route has made some changes now that the Treehouse Villas are being serviced. When returning from the Market place you stop at West Side and Pleasure Island and have to transfer boats to get back to SSR. We found it just easier to walk! 3. There is no longer boat service from SSR to OKW-we liked that to go to Olivias. Now have to go to DTD and catch the OKW boat. 4. Disney seems to have eliminatedseveral TV stations in the rooms, tough on a 90 degree day when you just want to relax , watch a little tv, before heading out.Guess that is their way of keeping you in the parks. Overall it was a very relaxing time and as always we enjoyed SSR greatly. It is a perfect place to relax after being at the parks.

Thanks for sharing. We will at SSR in January. This will be the second time staying at this resort and I know we will enjoy it. I knew the boat had changed for DTD but I guess I never put two and two together on just how much it changed. That's kind of a bummer.
