What age can kids ride without parents?

At what age can children ride without an adult? Sorry, I tried to search for the answer and didn't find it.

Our friends are leaving in a week on their first trip to WDW. They are a family of 5 - kids are 9, 6 and 3. They are trying to figure out if the 9 and 6 year old will be able to ride together with their parents in a separate seat.

We're a family of 4 so we've never run into this issue. Thanks for your help!

They will be fine. We went with 4, 4, 6, 9, and 11 year olds, and never had a problem.

I believe the age is 7 for a solo rider, so the two oldest riding together will be OK.

Disney official age is 7

so the 9 yr old will be able to ride alone and a parent for each of the other 2 for 2 person rides.

We were able to put a 7 and 8 year old together when I was there two weeks ago. I had five kids at MK alone, one being autistic and therefore riding with me, so we had to figure out the logistics before we went!

As long as there is an adult in the group, you should be fine. WDW does state that a child must be over the age of 7? to ride completely alone though.

My 8-year-old rode alone with his 5-year-old cousin. So the 9 and 6 year olds should be able to ride together.

If there was no adult in the group, the CM shouldn't have allowed it, as it is against Disney policy. Just think, what would be the child's response if the ride shut down, and they had to evacuate?

They were riding the tea cups. I think the kids would have gotten off and walked over to where they could see me standing by the exit gate. I get your point though. Regardless of what the CMs allow, we wouldn't have let them ride anything where they were out of our sight. But the OP said her friends wanted the two older kids to ride together with the parent(s) in a separate seat, so I assumed she meant the parents would be on the ride as well.

That makes sense - they were all on together, and the teacups are easy to navigate off of (well, if you haven't been spinnning too much, LOL!) I was thinking more on line of Haunted Mansion, Spaceship Earth, etc.
