Fireworks from Grand Californian?

We are staying at the GCH for the first time in a few weeks! We have a standard room booked, so not sure if we will have a balcony view or not. Is there a good spot to view the fireworks from if you can't see them from your room? Also, do all the rooms at GCH have a balcony, does anyone know?

Thanks in advance...we are so excited to be staying at the GCH!

The rooms that overlook DTD have some decent views of the fireworks. From our second floor room in the DVC wing, we could see about one third to one half of them, the rest were blocked by the other wing of the GCH across from us. Had we been higher up, that would have helped. If you just walk out the hotel to DTD, you can see them from various areas.

When you check in, ask them, they will be able to tell you if your room has a view or not.

And they do have the music for the fireworks on the in room tv, can't remember which channel but the television guide thing will tell you.

Have fun, we just had 8 wonderful nights at the GCH and are really missing it!

We had a standard room facing the California Adventure Park, and was not able to see the fireworks. We called the front desk to ask where we could go in the hotel to watch them. Since we did not have the concierge service, where you can watch from the room with sound effects added, we were directed to the top floor of the building where Goofy's Kitchen is (was coooold!).

With a standard view it is unlikely you will be able to see the fireworks from your room. The cast will not even say that the Downtown Disney rooms have a fireworks view, so with a standard view, no way. Most of the rooms have balconies but we noticed that the ones over the monorail do not. You can ask for one, but they only guarantee the view you will get, nothing else. You can see the fireworks from a lot of places in Downtown Disney as well as the esplanade, but you would not be able to hear the music obviously.
