Does "Adult" AP ticket = Adult discount?

Ok I have a question that I have not been able to find an answer to, and thought that mabey someone on here could answer. Sorry if this is long and confusing.
First I am not trying to be dishonest or cheat disney out of money, just trying to find the best deal and wondered if this could be done. My family, myself, DH, 2 DD's, and 3DS's will be getting AP tickets for our GG trip next year. My husband and I along with our two DD's will have adult tickets, because of the size of our group my DD's will be in other rooms with family members. My question is can we use their AP's to get the ap discount on the other rooms, they are not adults(there will be adults in the room), but will have adult tickets, can this be done? Thanks for any info

I believe you can only get a room discount with an adult AP, not a child's.

I believe that you can, but you could call and confirm it.

The room needs to be in the name of the AP holder, and that person needs to be at least 18 years old. If your DDs are not 18, they cannot check in, and therefore, cannot get the AP discount.

I thought it was just that someone listed on the room needs to show an AP, not necessarily the person who's listed as primary?

And can't you book up to two rooms anyway with an AP?

Another way to do it is just to switch an adult, put yourself or your husband (with your APs!) in place of one of the other adults, and put them in your room. Problem solved!

Just one room per AP.

The name on the AP must be the name on the reservation and that person must be an adult (not a guest 10+ like the annual pass states).

Unless you are requesting that all rooms are keyed alike and either everyone or no one is getting the dining plan, you will have some problems putting people on the reservation in a room they don't intend to stay in.

Yellowstone was amazing and is a lot more inviting than Disney right now. Could we be selling it all in the near future? Maybe.

You can get 1 room and your husband can get 1 room. Ask that your reservations be joined and that you'd like connecting rooms. You will have 2 separate reservation numbers. Explain to the CM what you want to do.

I have booked and paid for 2 AP rooms when the second room did not contain any APs. I specifically told the CM that we were paying for their room and asked if our AP discount would apply to their room and they said that it would.

Of course this could have been the CM getting the policy wrong, as they have been known to do a time or two.

As an aside, I have never been asked to show my AP for multiple AP discount stays, and I have to say that burns me up. It's not that much trouble to ask to see a pass.

I asked about booking 2 rooms with my AP for November and was told that I couldn't because the policy had changed from 3 rooms to 1. Now, I have 1 room with an AP and 1 with another discount.

Must have just changed, because we were there October 3rd. (just for one night, it was a last minute quick getaway.)

I think the CMs just don't know all the rules. The inconsistancy of answers you get with their telephone booking is amazing.

I think it was more than a year ago that they changed the AP discount rules - booking multiple rooms vs. 1 room per passholder. If you were allowed to do that, I'd consider it pixie dust.

You're right though about the inconsistency and also about them not asking to see the pass when you check in.
