Spectromagic parade - where to go?
The only time that is really good for us for next week is Wed night since we fly in Mon afternoon. So how early should we go to watch and where is a good place to stand?

I usually tell people to get a spot on the curb at least an hr before...use that time to grab a snack and people watch! We like to sit on Main St right near Caseys Corner......many people have their fav spot to sit for the parades but we like Main St!!

I think the best area to watch the parade in is the Liberty Square area, near the Hall of Presidents. It's not as popular and crowded, and we get there about 30-45 minutes before and get a snack and hang out

That's our favorite place to watch parades too. They were renovating the Christmas Shop in September which eliminated some of the parade viewing spots and made it a little more congested but still not too bad.

The WDW November calendar is no longer showing Spectro on Wed 11/4. Now it is showing Thus 11/5. I have been watching this as we were going on Wed also, and if this change is correct, we will have to buy Park Hoppers to see Spectro on Thus.

You can show up much later in Liberty Square / Frontierland to see this parade, as it is much less crowded...however remember if the parade starts at 8 PM on Main street, it won't show up in Frontierland until about
We have seen if from a few locations, while Frontierland was the most convenient, my favorite was to watch it right at the hub, and then stay for Wishes shortly afterwards. You have to get there MUCH earlier to stake a spot (probably an hour before) but it's SOOO worth it.

We actually like watching Spectro from Frontierland. There is definately not as many people as there is watching it on Main Street!

Frontier Land - join the "Ledge People" by Pecos Bill.
You MUST get their painfully early - but if you plan well...it's so worth it! Outside Pecos Bill is a planting with trees. You can sit on the ledge and CM's will not let anyone stand in front of you. DON'T sit on the ledge with the fence behind - CM's will ask you to move. If a float goes out of control, you cannot escape with the fence behind you. We try to get there early and take turns at Pecos Bill. They characters will come up and hug you and they are a step from where you are sitting. The best.....but available for only a few people so it fills up early. |

My favorite spot to watch the parade is in Frontierland, right across from the Shooting Arcade.

A look at the Parade Route
SpectroMagic and the 3 O'Clock Parade both start near the Firehouse and exit near Splash Mtn. MVMCP and MNSSHP Parades both start near Spalsh Mtn. and exit near the Firehouse.

We always get a curb seat about an hour before and our favorite place is right around Frontierland going in to Liberty Square, right around Tom Sawyer Island because alot of the time it's not as crowded as it can be on Main Street.
We always get Dole Whips and sit down and people watch...good way to pass the time. |

I noticed this change too. It is hard to make your ADR and touring plans in advance when they make last minute changes like this.
