Making sure I got this all down and some BWI q's

ok transportation gurus...I am just double checking on what I am doing. We leave Sunday. I have so much to do ..so I apologize if this has answered before...I just can't keep searching today..

Ok..lemme make sure I got this right...I check in 24 hours before my flight..with Southwest. I just put in my confirmation and that should check all five of us in..We have three kids, so hopefully we will get consecutive boarding numbers.

Then I can print out my boarding passes and take them to the airport?

From what I gathered, medicines are fine to bring on board(nebulizers, albuterol, ibuprofen, epi pen)..but as I get to the security point..I should tell the agent that I have these things? Do I take them out and put them in a tray to go through xray after announcing I have them? Do I put the nebulizer on the belt? My dh is freaking a bit over the medicines and thinks we are going to have issues...I told him it would be ok..but he wanted me to double check

Ok..we are flying out of BWI..I know nothing about BWI..I saw a thread about different parking places.....Where is the best place to leave your car and get to your terminal? do I need to call ahead?

I think that is it for now..Sorry ..we are in the pretrip panic mode

For the way back..if I pay for EBCI ..then I don't have to check in and I can print my boarding passes at MCO?

We are leaving in 4 days and I agree...PANIC MODE!

As far as parking, I would def. recommend Airport Fastpark. https://www.airportfastpark.com/Balt...t-Parking.aspx

We use the Blue Lot. It's great! Go online and print their coupon which is $6.40 per day. They will follow you to your parking spot, help you load your luggage, give you a water bottle, newspaper and happily deliver you to curbside check in! No reservations needed, just show up. When you return, you can call for them to pick you up but I've never really found it necessary. Just go out of baggage claim and look for their bus. They usually come around frequently just be sure you are getting on the right one, they have a blue and red lot! They will park right behind your car in their lot, help you unload your bags (very nice the night we came home when it was POURING down rain!) and you will be on your way! We have used the airport long term or economy parking but it STINKS and is more expensive! The buses that take you to their lots are always full by the time they get to us and we froze one January waiting! Then they drop you in the middle of their parking lot to fend for yourself!

Hope you have a great time! Looks like we will have great FL weather! Where are you staying?

4 days and counting!

With the fast park..they put you on a shuttle over to the airport? Sounds great..Thanks so much for that info!! Yea ..I don't fly very much(obviously) and we weren't sure we were going for a bit due to illness..but now everyone is healthy(yay) and I have two days to make sure I know what we are doing!!

Yea it looks like the heat will break the day after we get there...I think my hubby is in more panic that me...I thought I explained to him everything I learned but of course he wanted me to "make sure"

Thanks so much for the BWI info..we are staying at the poly btw.

Yes, check in at 24 hours for your SWA boarding passes. You will need your confirmation number and first and last name of one passenger. When you get to the check in screen you will need to click on each passengers name to check them in and then click on Print Boarding Passes.

Put all of your liquid medications(albuterol, epi-pen) in a zip lock bag and put them through security with your other items. Items like ibuprofen do not need to be declared. They have bins to put small stuff in. No big deal. No need to really even tell the agent, just put them through the scanner.

On the way back if you pay for EBCI, enjoy the last 24 hours of your vacation and print your boarding passes when you check your baggage at the airport on the way home. No need to check in at all.

i can help with the medicine questions....i travel with all of that stuff like 5 times a year.

Nebulizer--it should be in a case of some sort. All you need to do is open the case and put it in a bin and on the belt. You DO NOT have to take it out of the bag to put on the belt. They are not allowed to make you take it out b/c it can get broken (trust me, mine did once). After it goes through the belt, they SHOULD take it off the belt adn out of the bag and do an explosives test on it.

Epipens- you do not need to do anythign special with these. I carry 6 with me. I keep 4 in my purse and 2 in my carryon. Ive never been asked about them.

Albuterol for the nebs.- This should be in a ziploc bag but because it is a prescription medication, it does not count as the 3-1-1. It can be in whatever size bag it will fit in.

Inhalers- i'm guessing since you have a neb. you also carry inhalers. This, same with the epipens, have never had a problem with. i carry 3 in my purse and the rest in my carry on.

I seperate my medications by pills and liquids. Pills in one bag, liquids in another. It just make sit easier for me at least.

Also, remember, the neb. does not count as one of your carry ons. so you can still each have a carry on plus a personal item in addition to the neb.

You shouldn't have to tell them when you get to security that you have these things. I never have. I just put it all on the belt adn if they have questions about any of it, they ask and i tell. Nothing shoudl have to be declared b/c none of it should violate the 3-1-1 rule.

I think the show might connect with women more because we have obviously known it all along. And men are catching on now mostly because of cable. They’re like, ‘Strong women on cable. I think, ‘No those aren’t strong women, those are women.’ All the strong women articles crack me up.”

oh thank you guys so much for the info.....so I do need to take the medicines out of my carryon and place it on the belt separately? Yes I do have some inhalers<my daughter>. I will carry them in my purse along with my epi pen...

Thanks for the help..we were very nervous about all the medicines...so Ibuprofen doesn't have to be placed separately on the belt...I also have some prescription medicines..I should also place those in a baggie and put it in it's own bin out of my carry on?

The nebulizer is a mini one..so it is in a bag..Thanks ..good tip to open it...Also with a laptop..you should take it out of the bag and put it on the conveyor?

No need to remove your prescription medications from your carry on and place them in a bin unless they are liquid. Pills do not fall under any restrictions so there is no need to declare them or have them separately scanned.

Yes, laptops and DVD players need to be taken out of their cases and put in a bin. They do no need to be opened.
