Wink I can barely breath - we are so close! Nov 2009 Pre-trip Gossip Pages

Well, were to start, I have so much excitement, anxiety, and things to do I just need to vent it all out!

Every year the hubby and I take our 4 teenage boys on vacation to the Pocono for a week of fun filled things. Welll, this year, we couldn't go becauase they all actually have JOBS! YAY!!! So, I got the itch at the end of August when we were supposed to be away, and started looking for deals. I was leaning towards an extended weekend, just the 2 of us, in Chincoteaque. Low and behold, I got an email from SW Air about the special running of friends fly, stay and play free. How can I pass this up??

So, I talked to my hubby about hitting Orlando for 8 days, instead of 4 days in VA, at half the price. Sold!!!!

We are going on Monday, the 2nd, and returning on Monday the 9th. I am so overwhelmed with excitement that I almost forgot that my favaorite holiday is tomorrow!!

So on with our itinerary.....

Itinerary(ish)

So,we are booked to stay at Lake Eve Resort. We wanted something with a balcony, something with a view, something with a kitchen and awesome bathroom, and something we could afford. We found the Lake Eve has it all! Sold!!!

We hit the plane at 7:00 a.m. Monday, non-stop, expected to arrive at 9:20. Rental car through Enterprise so we don't have to shuttle anywhere. No real plans for the day, except hit Walmart and grocery store for things we forgot, breakfast items and late night munchies. We are booked for Capone's dinner show that night.

Universal Studios on Tuesday, with lunch at Mel's (looove that place!). That evening we will hit City Walk for dinner at Bubba Gump's and then onto Rising Star so my hubby can sing some Karaoke.

Wednesday we will hit Sea World, with lunch at Shark Underwater Grill. That evening we have 7:45 dinner reservations at Emeril's.

Thursday is an off day. Maybe relax at the pool, site see, take a drive. We have reservations for Arabian Nights that evening for dinner, doors open at 430.

Friday is back to Universal, Island of Adventure, with reservations at Mythos for lunch. We plan to hit Old Town for the car show that night so dinner is up in the air. Maybe something in Old Town.

Saturday we will go back to Universal and hit things we didn't get the first time. Lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe (my boss gave us a $40 gift card, and some passes to go to the head of the line and free souvenir!) We have no plans for dinner that night so we may get some Thai and relax at the room for a bit before we hit City Walk of maybe even Disney Boardwalk.

Sunday we are going to Discovery Cove. I can't wait!!!! Dinner is at Sleuth's Mystery Theater that night.

Monday my hubby is dragging me to Gatorland. Our plan leaves at 4:50, so we will grab lunch and head to the airport. Boooooooooo!!!

You can plan my vacation! How on earth are you managing 8 days in Orlando doing all you have planned for the price of 4 in Virginia!

Ok! I love to plan things! I think we are able to cram in so much because we have no kids going with us. But, Chincoteague is pretty pricey in the off season - - The Comfort Inn alone was $771 for 4 nights! And then there is nothing to do there.

Southwest had a "buy one get one free" special going on. The hotel, airfair, car, 7 day tickets to Universal and 2 days to SeaWorld for 2 people was a little over $700 when we booked. So, there is 8 days in FLA with things to do, for the price of 4 in VA.

Now, I did prepay for all our dinner theaters through discount ticket sites (and believe me I went with the cheapest one I found!) So, that bumped us up to almost $900. Which puts us over in that aspect, and then you add in the cost for fuel, parking and other food.

FABULOUS!!! Excellent plans! How cool is it that we're going the same time!

And I'm jealous! You're arriving so early on Monday!

I'm excited too!

ckmiles - Thank you. I am very excited.

EPRV We love Disney - I am sooooooo excited. It is driving me nuts! The only downfall of leaving so early and SW Air is I have to be up by 7am to print boarding passes. But this way.. we have the whole day once we get there. Coming home too! Our plane leaves at 5pm. YAY!!

So if you are going the same time - I bet you and yours are bouncing off the walls as well! Thank goodness tonight is halloween and I will be pre occupied with kiddies and costumes and even an adult party. Tommorow will be maddening!

So, I made it through the day. Checked-in with SW and printed boarding passes. All errands were ran, last minute must haves, all the laundry got done, and everything is packed!! 10 hours 16 minutes to go. I need to get to bed because we need to leave at 5am for the airport.... but I am so wound up I dont think I can!!
