AKL - What are the best times of day to see animals from your room?

Also, are there certain times the animals are taken off the savannah for feeding, etc?

We're staying at Jambo House.

You may want to check with the front desk as to what times the feeding occur throughout the day as that is the best times to see the animals as they all gather to eat

I agree, checking at the resort for the best time is the best idea.

The animals are moved in and out of the 'barn' during the day and it's possible that the times change based on what time of the year it is.

Our visits have been in early December and it seemed that the critters were loose and feeding in the 7-8am range (Arusha Savannah) just as we were getting up.

I saw the most animals early in the AM when I first got up. I loved sitting on the balcony sipping my coffee and watching all the animals grazing.

It is pretty darn sad when a valet picks you out as a big Boma eater

At 8am we saw large birds for about an hour and when we got back to our room for a break around 2pm and the large cow like animals and another one was out and around 5pm the zebras and giraffes were out.

It was awesome! BTW we were on the zebra trail

We could always see some animals from our rooms. According to the animal keepers, the animals live on the savannahs and are only taken off for checks periodically. They are fed on the savannahs, usually in the afternoons, and we often saw the giraffes and zebras eating. The birds are always there, too.

Most of the time we see animals but around sunrise and sunset the animals start to move a bit. But it depends on your room and the weather. This last trip some of the animals were sleeping right under our room. But we were at penultimate room at the end of the building. By my request.

We never did make it to the overlook.

Later,
Dan

70's to 1997 too many trips to count.

Disney is a lens that focuses on people.
Sometimes it exposes the worst.
Most of the time it highlights the best.

We were just there (came home 10/23). The guide at the overlook told us the animals ate breakfast in the barn between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m.

We saw a lot of animals from our balcony early (7-8ish) munching around, but the most we saw was usually at night 6-8ish. They seem to go to bed pretty early though we were lucky to have ankole cattle and lots of birds sleeping right outside our deck.
