Kidani Studio Savanna View request

Hi all,
We just confirmed our upcoming trip for the beginning of March 2010 -- booked at AKV - Kidani -- studio with savanna view -- we are so excited!!!
For a room request - i said close to lobby sunset savanna -- is that a good request? i didn't want to be over specific but yet i would really like to be near the lobby and would prefer 2nd or 3rd floor but didn't want to take it too far -- i know it's just a request and nothing is guaranteed.
does anyone have any other tips or advice? or does anyone know where most of the studios are located or are they spread out among the property. i found a floor plan layout for jambo but not kidani.
You are all so wonderful!!
Thanks so much!!!

We stayed on the 5th and the tree tops on the savanaa really blocked our view of animals unless they were directly below us. If you get a room on 2 or 3, you should have a clear view right across the savanaa. I would really push to get onto the 2nd or 3rd floor.

We recently got back from our first stay at Kidani in a SV room and it was totally amazing. We were on the 2nd floor in the next to last building closest to Jambo. 2nd floor had some spectacular views of the animals, we had giraffes outside our room every evening. As far as being close to the lobby it just depends what you like. We didn't mind the walk at all back to the lobby and bus stop. Being that far from the lobby it was like we were isolated from everything else and that is just the way we are. We were with some friends there that same week and they had a room on the 2nd floor near the lobby and they absolutely loved where they were also. With SV you can't go wrong at all on the 2nd or 3rd floor for sure no matter how close or far you are from the lobby. Hope you have great time.

Bama106 is talking about my DH and me. I called four days out and requested a room that was close to the lobby and on the 2nd floor and both our requests were met. We had a wonderful view of the animals and could see the observation area from our balcony.

We were in room 7224 (a Studio), and we loved the location! It was close to the transportation door, although it was blocked off because they're putting in a covered walkway. We were also really close to the laundry facilities, which came in handy since we were in a Studio.

We couldn't have asked for a better location!

Views from our balcony:

Isn't the 2nd floor actually the 3rd floor because of the parking garage? When you say you stayed on the 2nd floor, was it the same floor as the lobby or one above? I'm getting ready to make my reservation, and I'm wondering the same thing.

The 1st floor is the parking area. The lobby is on the 2nd floor, as well as the first floor of rooms. The floor above the lobby would be the 3rd floor.

But isn't the parking garage really the ground floor and the lobby and first level of rooms the 1st floor? I thought I remember someone posting that it goes Ground floor (parking), 1st floor (lobby), 2nd floor, 3rd floor, and 4th floor. So when I hear people say the best floor is the 2nd floor, I wonder if they mean the 2nd floor or if they mean the 1st floor. I'm just getting so confused as to what I should request tomorrow when I make my reservation.

No, the 1st floor is parking, and the rooms begin on the 2nd floor. Our room number was 7224. Not sure what the 7 stands for, but the first 2 is for the 2nd floor, and the 24 is for room number 24.

During both of our Kidani stays, I have requested the 2nd floor, and we have always been on the lobby level. The reason most people prefer the 2nd floor is that you can see the animals without trees blocking the view.

Request the 2nd floor if you want to be on the same level as the lobby.
