Nervous about BWI...

I booked BWI for the first time ever. We are going just for the weekend, December 10 thru 13th. For some reason though I just keep having the urge to switch back to a resort that I have already been to because I already know I will like it! It will just be me (22) and my mom going to celebrate my college graduation (less than a month left!! )

Anyways, can anyone reassure me about my decision to stay at BWI? We booked a water view room if that helps.

I think you made a great choice! The BWI is a beautiful resort and in the perfect location for two adults. You'll have lots of nightlife around that area, plenty of dining options, if you drink there are bars around there too. And best of all you are a short walk from Epcot and a short boat ride to the Studios. The only down side about the BWI is the bus ride to MK is sort of a pain, but without kids it's a non-issue. The rooms are all recently remodeled too, so that is a big bonus. I can't imagine a better choice of resort, unless it was YC/BC.

If you've stayed at the Beach Club and liked it, I think the Boardwalk should be okay for you. I LOVE the Boardwalk Bakery, the only downside of all this, though, is that there is a definite dearth of quick service options. But if the Beach Club worked, Boardwalk should also.

BW is a terrific resort. The location is wonderful...quick walk to Epcot (about 8 mins) and about 18 mins to DHS, by boat is a bit slower, but more relaxing.
There isn't a ton of quick service available though...that's the only thing I don't like about BW. But I own DVC there, so it can't be all that bad!!! I make do and eat most counter servive meals in a park.
The atmosphere at BW is great...I love the music playing out on the boardwalk itself. There are good restaurants in the area...Flying Fish is terrific, Yachtsman Steak House, Blue Zoo..to mention a few.

Something new...

You are going to love it!
It's a great location (esp. to Epc & mgm)
Dolphin (nex door) has some excellent restaurants.
Get mom to spring for Todd English's BLUE ZOO

The food is excellent (though pricey)
And (on a seperate day) try the "kitchen sink" at the BC
Ice cream parlor, if you like a LOT of ice cream that is.

Relax & enjoy!

BWI is gorgeous and so convenient to Epcot and DHS. You may find that this becomes your new favorite resort!

We stayed at the BWI for the first time last Oct and loved it! The room was so clean and nice and redone, the garden view we had was awesome and we watched the fireworks over France every night. Super great location to parks and great restaurants nearby.

The only thing it is lacking is a nice CS option

Oh my goodness I absolutely adore the BWI. As soon as our children are older we will be returning there. DH and I spent a long weekend at the BWI before the kiddies and thought it was fantastic. We adored the location and the theme of the hotel -- and that was before the gorgeous rehab. Based on photographs, I think the BWI currently has the most beautiful rooms on property. I've never stayed at BC/YC, so I can't comment on whether they are better, but I see that you have previously stayed at the GF -- I have stayed there and it is hard to say which I like better as between the BWI and the GF.

Enjoy a new resort and have a great trip!

I love the BW! Of all the places I have stayed it is one of my favorites. I think it is the best location at night. Make sure to take your mom to Jellyrolls - it is a hoot even if you don't have a drink.

I have not stayed at the BWI, but the location is great.
The pool looks really cool.
You can walk to Epcot.
You can walk to DHS.

You can actually enjoy the boardwalk area. It is a pain to get to boardwalk if you are not staying in the area. At other hotels you may have to get a bus to DTD and then to BW.
Then you have to get back to you resort the same way.

You can watch the Epcot fireworks from the boardwalk area.

Blue Zoo in the Dolphin is my favorite place to eat in Disney.
Kimono's (in the Swan) is my favorite Sushi in Disney, and they have people making fools of themselves with karaoke.

The fountain in the Dolphin has good burgers (not cs burgers) and nice ice cream for a good cheap meal. It is set up like a 50’s malt shop so your mom may enjoy that.

The acts on the boardwalk are a lot of fun. Magicians, jugglers, and the piano guy.

I can't imagine you would not enjoy it.

I am so excited! I just tonight paid my balance and we are off to the BWI IC in 45 days!! We actually are doing a split stay with GF SL. In May we did our first Epcot resort stay at the BC and loved the area! We had only done monorail hotels in DW before. The BC rooms are refurbed and very nice looking. We decided on BW because I thought my 17yo would like the atmosphere more than the BC. The pics of the BW rooms look great! After going back and forth trying to decide if we made the right resort decision, now that the money is paid...my mind is made up and I know we will love it!

My DH, GD and I stayed at BWI one year, and we LOVED it. A wonderful resort!

Go without hesitation.
