What would you do w/o your kids?
Were leaving in a week with another couple sans kids! The other couple aren't disney freaks like us! So, we haven't been in 6 years without kids! Alot has changed! We weren't so desperate for decompression & relaxation!
So, what should we do? What have you done that made you think "I'm so glad you did that." Please help! The other couple have hardly been so we want to do something special for them too!

I think the Keys to the Kingdom tour is special and for people over 16 only. It starts at Magic Kingdom City Hall, takes you through the "utilidors" (sp?) under the park, behind the scenes of Splash Mountain and Haunted Mansion. They take you to where the floats are stored and explain how they work... how the parades work. VERY interesting. I highly recommend it and you couldn't do it with the kids.

Another thing... Is anyone in your group a military veteran? If so, sign up at the MK City Hall to be honored as the Veteran of the Day during Retreat. You can do this with or without kids; but, either way it is special.

go to the poly and sit at the bar and have a drink. The pool side bar there is very nice too and the cast member will make you a wonderful drink, spend a little time talking to them its lonely out there. The medium priced resturant at the poly is one of my favorites, the prime rib is really great and the price is right.

Do the same things you would do if your kids were there
![]() Just because my kids arent there doesn't mean I suddenly don't want to go on the same rides and do the same things..... Actually I have done the Keys to the Kingdom tour and agrre, it is very worthwhile. If you had little kids and didnt do much in the way of TS dining, perhaps one or two of the nicer restaurants might be in order. |

Wow, the things I do when my kid is not there. . .
My kid has been to WDW 3 times and I have been 10 times. . .I do pretty much the same things when he is there as when he isn't there. . .of course my son is 16. He can't go to Jellyrolls or Atlantic Dance Hall. . .both of which I enjoy attending whether he is there or not. He loves fine dining so that is an easy one. I love just spending time enjoying my resort when I stay at deluxe resorts or the Port Orleans resorts. . .they are all so relaxing to me. My son and I don't spend a whole lot of time at Magic Kingdom cause we are from Southern California originally and think that Disneyland Park is way better. . .Epcot, around the world. . .shopping, drinking, whatever. . .its a very interesting trip. . .Animal Kingdom. . .walking the animal trails. . .awesome. If your kids are small and can't do the "big rides" then doing those is wonderful. . .basically just enjoy yourself. . .its awesome. . .

OK... here's another idea. I think the Festival of the Lion King at Animal Kingdom is the best show at the WDW Parks. Yes, the kids can go; but, without them, you can soak it all in and not worry about who is/isn't sitting still, who spilled what, who has to go to the bathroom. The music is wonderful.

Our kids are older so on our last family trip we did a Segway tour. YOu have to be over 16 to do it so when the last cousin turned 16 we booked one.
My dh and my bil did the Keys To the Kingdom and loved it. We would have done it on our last trip but I was still recovering from foot surgery and we thought it would be too much

Thanks guys!
Going to Poly is a great idea! I've been for the character breakfast but never to the bar! I've always heard the beach there is great to see Wishes! I read somewhere else about barhopping along the Monorail! That sounds fun! We've done Keys to the Kingdom B.C.(before children) but the Segway tour sounds fun!

Barhopping along the Monorail (aka; The Monorail Bar Crawl) is a blast. . .although we never made it to the Contemporary cause we ended up on a bus to the boardwalk and went to JR's. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

i am going solo next week, planning to do jelly rolls and the kttk tour both of which were already mentioned. but im going to try to do the hot air balloon in dtd. i know the kids could do it, but 1 i probably wouldnt want to spend that much money ($16x4!) and my baby is only 2. not sure if she is too young, but i cant imagine chasing her around a hot air balloon! LOL
i am also looking forward to riding whatever i want when i want, i missed tot my last 2 trips because no one else wanted to ride, bring it on! have a great time! |

Tried to do a MK monorail bar hopping tour but ended up staying at Narcoosee's and watching the Electrical Water Pageant and Wishes!!! So many great options though and def. plan on moving on next time....potential stops: Tambu Lounge and the pool bar at Polynesian, Mizner's and Narcoosee's at GF (love Narcoossee's, great bartenders and a veranda right on the water with a perfect view of Wishes!), and the Outer Rim and California Grill bar at Contemporary. You could also take the boat from the MK over to Wilderness Lodge and do Territory Lounge - its a great atmostphere and the landscaping and the lobby of the hotel are fantastic!
