Southwest Check-In (Boarding Pass)

What is the best way to get a boarding pass for Southwest Airlines while on the ship?

When we stay at one of the WDW resorts, at our request , the concierge will pull-up our reservation and print-out our boarding pass. How can we do the same thing on the Magic?

The only way I can think of to do it, is to log into one of the PCs onboard and do the check in. Last I heard it was about $.75 per minute for the internet access (unless you buy a package deal) and I have no idea what they charge for printing. Or..... you could have someone at home do the check in for you and just get your boarding passes re-printed when you get to the airport.

Above poster is correct. DCL will not print out your boarding passes for you. You would have to sign onto the internet onboard and check in that way. You could either print your boarding passes onboard or just check in thru the internet onboard and print your boarding passes from the kiosk at the airport.

Another option is to have someone at home check you in and then print your boarding passes at the airport. Save you some money at the internet cafe onboard.

Or pay $10 per person for Early Bird Checkin, and you don't have to worry about it while onboard the ship.

Yeah, early bird check in is a wonderful thing. We were A 21, 22, and 23 for all of our flights and there was no one in A 1-16 so we got the exit row for every flight. I would highly recommend using early-bird.

I went to the Internet Cafe, located next to the Promenade Lounge. I logged in 24 hours prior to boarding and checked us all in. You have to pay for the internet service. The computer will give you the instructions about how to log in. I did pay as you go, which was $.75 cents per minute, so I ended up charging about $2.00 to my stateroom account to do this.

The printer that was located in that area was down when I went (on October 21, 2009). This was o.k. though, because you still get your boarding number as long as have checked in and you can "re-print" your boarding passes at the Southwest desk.

I logged in at exactly 24 hours prior and got A boarding for both of our flights.

Thanks for the ideas. I was concerned about the printing, but if we can re-print at the gate, we are golden.

FYI: you don't reprint at the gate, you will print your boarding pass where you would normally check in at the airport and where you check in bags. You need your boarding pass to go thru security.

Exactly the same here. Have a friend do the check in for you and print it out at the airport. Even if you check in on the ship's internet, you can print it at the airport.

If you pay for early bird check in southest will check you in 36 hours prior to the flight. Just reprint your boarding passes at the airport.

you should be ahead of all the people that are checking in at 24 hours prior.

Southwest Check in

We did the early check in before our cruise from home for both legs of the round trip.
However, as soon as I paid the $10 per person for 5 of us for both ways ($100.00) I realized I had been incredibly stupid.

Since the first on the plane can save some seats, it would make sense to only do the early check in to ensire the "A" boarding passes for one or two in your group. Then, those can board and save the seats next to them for the rest of the party!

Good luck
Peggy

Well, not really. It's a SW policy that there is no seat saving allowed. I've never tried but if someone wanted to, they can sit in any empty seat when boarding.
I'd rather pay the $10 and know my kids will be sitting with me.
