I've never been the second poster on a thread before...

Just officially joined this cruise today. I had actually booked a different cruise in late '09 for my entire family when I was onboard solo, but those with children win out and said MLK wkd was a better choice.

So I'm the only DIS'er in the group (14 total) and I don't know how much they will participate on the ship if/when we get things organized, but I definately want to meet my fellow cruisers so if/when they poop out early I still know people in RBD!

This was our whole crew on the Wonder in Jan '07:

So the kids will all be a little bigger in Jan '10 - means they will mostly be bigger than their Aunt Kimmy! The 14yo was already bigger than me back then! (I'm the one in the purplish dress.)

So anyways... it's me - Kimberly (or Kim or Kimmy or Kim-Kim, etc)

I am in one of the SPH rooms too!!!!! I can't wait this is Part 1 of 2 cruises we are doing. We are doing this one and the western right after this cruise as a Back to Back! :D

Are you also doing the MED and the WB transatlantic? if so I am so jealous!!!

Yes, right now I have 4 cruises booked! It's Ramen noodles and peanut butter sandwiches for 2 years! I don't actually know if I'll be able to keep all of the cruises - but here's hoping...

The Double Dip in Nov '09 is the cruise I had booked for the whole family and I just couldn't let it go because I loved the itinerary, so I kept one of the rooms for me and a "TBA" person. Then I've got the Med and WBTA booked with a girl I met while we were both traveling solo on the EB Panama Canal. We're hoping to be able to keep both of those cruises because there are going to be lots of people we met on the PC cruise - and besides, 24 nights in a row on the Magic!!

I have a Eastern with Tortola booked for May 2009 and then this cruise and the 1/23/10 Western booked.

My DSIL just called and asked how I would feel if they asked a girl who works for them to come along as a thank you gift for the last 5-6 years. I know her (somewhat) and she's close to my age so that would give me someone else to hang out with... but now I'm up to 4 people in the cabin (including 2 teens) and there is no more room in that logo for another person!!

Care to share details? How was your cruise?

I'm going on the Wonder 2/22/09 and then sometime late 2009 on a 3 day wonder as part of the 4 or 7 day now and $99 3 day later promo! Then Jan 2010 back to back 7 days!

I am officially addicted!

The kiddos didn't know about it until they got to the airport.

The "Broadway" shows were AWESOME!

We got to see the Tinker Bell movie on the big screen. And dh & the kids saw Wall E there too.

Pirate night was good. Our kids aren't into POTC so the movie wasn't for them. The buffet looked pretty good. We just had dinner and weren't hungry.

I was up early almost every day ~ 5 ish and was able to get drinks/beverages at the drink station on deck 9. It's open 24 hours a day. It has most coke products, coffee, a good tea selection and packets of hot chocolate.

Take time in Cove Cafe. It's an adults only area. I found some great books that I borrowed for the length of the cruise. I don't finish 2 books in a week at home.

Don't try to do everything. You will run yourself ragged. A DCL pro told us to pick 3 things a day to do ... just like we do in the parks. That way we get to do things we want & it's great if we have time/energy to do more.

We didn't buy the DCL H2O package at $35.00 a case of Evian. We didn't mind the water on the Magic. We did buy bottle of water for our excurision days at the CVS on Key West.

Avoid Duvall St on Key West if you have kids that can read. The t-shirts are awful.

I put an abbreviated list of things on the forum which I found very helpful as a new cruiser. Most of them were gleaned from the Dis DCL forum.

I'm flexible I'll go with the majority's vote :D

Off to Animal Kingdom today! 65 so the animals should hopefully be more active!
