Where can I buy a bottle of wine in WDW (for our room)?

Good thing they don't limit the # of questions you can ask each day. As our trip quickly approaches, I have a million questions!

I love enjoying a glass of wine after a long day, and especially when I'm on vacation. That said, is there anywhere we could buy some wine in WDW? We are not planning on renting a car at all, so stopping off-property for a liquor store is pretty much out of the question.

Can you put bottles of wine in your checked luggage? (Sounds a bit risky to me!)

The gift shops (at least in places with DVC rooms) have a small variety of alcoholic products. I'm not sure how steeply priced anything is though.

Edit - If you're staying at VWL, the gift shop in WL should have something. Not sure what the name of the store is, but it's just inside the door that the walkway from VWL to WL leads to.

DH and I have been wondering the same thing... Actually we have been wondering if we can buy LA Cetto, the wine they serve at San Angel Inn, at the Mexico pavilion. We had it on our honeymoon in Mexico, and haven't been able to find it at home.

Most resort gift shops have some type of wine.

I bought several bottles in Epcot. I also picked up a bottle of champagne in Epcot World Showcase France for our 25th wedding anniversary last year. You do have to haul it yourself back to your room.
No deliveries of alchohol are allowed or so I was told.

Don't forget to bring a wine bottle opener!

If you're staying in a villa there should be a corkscrew. I don't know how fancy or basic it is, so if you have one at home that you like using, bring it, but otherwise you shouldn't have to worry about that.

I too love a glass of wine after a day in the parks! Before leaving on our last Disney vacation without a rental car, we did a "Tour de Franzia". If anyone knows boxed wine, Franzia is a name brand for one of them. It was our goal to find the best boxed wine. Black Box won the Merlot category and Corbet Canyon Pinot Grigio/Chenin Blanc mix, won the white category. And yes, I packed it and it made it's way intact from New York to Florida!!

By the way....the taste tasting before the trip was fun!!! LOL

I did take a bottle with me in my checked bag last trip. I wrapped it in bubble wrap and packed it in the middle of the bag. I knew I was risking wine soaked clothing, but it made it just fine! My friend couldn't believe I'd packed it, but she was happy to enjoy it with me.

I would be sitting on the patio of the Fontana bar at the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas watching the dancing fountains on a warm balmy night whilst sipping vintage Champagne

We have bought nice reasonably priced bottles of wine from the shops at the Beach Club and at AKL. In fact at AKL we tried a few nice African wines that we would not have thought to try anywhere else.

Pack the corkscrew in checked baggage

If you plan to bring a corkscrew, put it in your checked bags. I had received a mini corkscrew at a tradeshow one time, and it was taken from my carry on bags.

I glad you said it first, I've done the same thing and it did survive the trip! But just for curiousity how much would be "reasonable" to some of you? Just wondering if I'd be better off buying a bottle when we get there in Jan.

You could also check with gardengrocer.com or wegoshop.com (groceries delivery firms) about delivery to the resort for a fee, usually around $12.

I just wanted to thank you for the boxed wine idea. I just went to the liquor store and bought 2 (I'm going to be there for 7 nights, so 1 would never do)! I found a nice Pinot, at least I hope so. Not too much money either, which is always good!

DH and I always keep a bottle of wine in our room. We love red wine and usually visit the kitchen shop at DTD on our arrival day to pick up a bottle or two. There is also a shop in the AK that sells some good South African wine.

We have not tried it yet, maybe in March, but I have heard that the Hess stations carry wine, in addition to beer. I know there is a Hess station right across from DTD, just in case you wo'nt have a rental car. Good Luck and happy tastings!
We stay at POFQ and they have a decent selection of wine,in the lounge, by the glass. They also sell individual size bottles of wine at the pool bar, in a pinch.
