Cruising with kids what cruiseline other then Disney

Cruising with kids ages 3, 11, and 14 and having a hard time affording Disney again. Any thoughts on a cruise that is just as fun, with lots of kids stuff so the adults can relax too? Want to go soon but would now need to sail during holidays. We live in California. So need to get my hubby away, and like how on Disney the kids love it so we have time. Love your thoughts. (ps would love to go THIS Thanksgiving.)

When you move to other lines you need to consider not only the line, but the class of the ship. The NEW Carnival and RCI ships have many good reports, the older ships not so good.

Since you live in California, is there something that departs from there and would save you a fortune in airfare?

We live in Huntington Beach. So if we went out of LA port or San Diego we would not have to do airfare.

I would check into RCCL Mariner of the Seas. It departs from LA and goes to Mexico. That ship has a great kids program, ice skating rink, rock climbing wall, mini golf course, & basketball court. It is also very reasonable. Don't get me wrong...it is not Disney, but there is still a lot for your kids to do and the older children won't miss the characters. Good luck.

I second this... we always go on RCCL, next week will be our first Disney actually! Mariner used to be out of Port Canaveral and that was the first cruise my kids ever went on, they were really young (not even 2 and almost 3 1/2) but they had a great time!!
