Anyone know what time these restaurants open for breakfast?

We're thinking of doing a breakfast at a monorail resort on a non-EMH MK morning. However, rope drop at MK is more important to us than the breakfast (we could always do a breakfast on a non-park day instead). It all depends on how early the restaurants open. In July MK opens at 9AM on a non-EMH morning. So we would have to be able to travel to the restaurant from BWV, and get out of there and to MK before rope drop (prefer to walk into the MK gates when they open, I believe they start letting people pass through at 8:30 or so). We will have the car with us and can drive.

The monorail resorts we are interested in for breakfast are Chef Mickey's, 1900 Park Fare, or Kona Cafe if we decide to go the non-character route. I would prefer to go the non-character route so it is less hectic and less stressful waiting for that last character to come by to see the boys, and save the character breakfast for another morning. We're not going to Ohana on this trip for breakfast because my boys are not into Lilo & Stitch and I don't know if Stitch will scare them, so not taking a chance at upsetting them. We would rather stick to their definite favorites.

How early do these restaurants open? Do you think we would still make rope drop?

According to allears.net and wdwinfo, Chef Mickey's opens at 7 am, 1900 Park Fare at 8 am, and Kona at 7:30 am. Sounds like you wouldn't make it in for RD if you choose 1900 Park Fare. Chef Mickey's maybe if you could get their earliest seating, but that might be pushing it, especially since it is a character meal. Kona might be your best bet since it opens early and won't have characters holding you up.

I believe Kona is also 8am.

Looks like CM's is the only choice that will fit your plans.

Thanks guys! I guess we will save the monorail resort breakfasts for other mornings when we are not going to the parks!

I have thought about Crystal Palace before rope drop, but we are going there for dinner that same night.

We ate at 2 monorail character breakfasts last year, and in both cases made it to MK by rope drop.

1. Chef Mickey's. 7am ADR, was at the turnstiles by 8:30.
2. Ohana. 8am ADR, this was a quick breakfast and we made it to the MK right at 9am.

How did you travel? Did you drive or only take Disney transportation?

That sounds great! But, I was going over our dining plans yet again, and we may have an extra CS credit left. So we're thinking of going to Captain Cook's for breakfast before MK. Capt. Cook's opens at 6:30AM and has tonga toast! I know they don't have the Kona coffee, but the coffee place in the Polynesian does and it also opens at 6:30. I know they don't accept the DDP at the coffee place, but for $2 I will splurge!!
