Bounce Back question...
Not sure if this is the right board for this but we just came back from a week at POR and got a Bounce Back offer in our rooms
![]() We decided to take advantage of it and booked for next Labor Day weekend with free dining - it's the very beginning of the school year and the Jewish Holidays fall the same week as Labor Day, so if school ends up starting that week at most they'll have two days. 8 people - 5 adults, 2 juniors between 11 and 18, and 1 child under 10. The thing is, I came back to find my eldest daughters mid-quarter report card waiting and let's just say it was less than stellar. I made the decision that she's out for the next trip - she's in HS now and this shows she's not able to take time out from school because even before the trip she was slipping and kept quiet about it, let alone do extra work to make up anything missed even so early in the year. The other two had reports which were fine. My sister has already agreed to stay with #1 at my house during that time. I now have space for 8 and want to potentially include my niece. Would it mess up our reservation to take a junior out and replace her with a child, or potentially just reduce the reservation down to 7 if my niece doesn't end up coming? I don't HAVE to make any changes until July 2010 when we hit 45 days but DD #1 is definitely out (a fact which may not fully register until next year when we're leaving and my sister is walking through the door, but those are the breaks!). Before I ask Disney I'd like to know what to expect.

I don't know if with free dining there is a price difference between a junior and a child. If the price of your package declines you could be charged a change fee. But if there's no price difference they'll probably just let you switch the older kid for the younger one (she'll get the child dining plan but since you aren't paying for the plan, just make sure the price won't drop)
There might be a price difference regarding the tickets, so they might want to charge you the change fee. If you'd like, look into booking your niece in as 10 years old and buy her an adult park ticket. That might actually cost less than the change fee. And she'd get an adult dining plan. If you reduce the reservation to 7 people you are definitely adjusting the price downward. I am not sure if the change fees are chargeable at all times or just after the 45 day mark - you might want to ask that before you ask anything else.
