A little over a month away....should we put in our room requests now?

We are going to CSR for Thanksgiving. Should we call now for our requests for what section we want to stay in?

Absolutely. I make my requests at the time of booking. Then I call back 3 months prior to make sure they have them and then again the day before we are due to arrive. I try to keep the request as simple as possible. So far 15+ trips, we have been granted all of our requests. Now, they are just requests, but I feel the simpler the better. Have a great trip.

You should call whoever you made the reservation with, not the resort itself, and have it added to your reservation.

It's been a while since I've stayed at a Disney Resort. Last time was a few years ago and I faxed my special requests directly to the room assigner about 4 days prior to arrival. Is this practice no longer accepted?

I'm staying at the Polynesian over Christmas. In my reservation I've requested the Fuji Longhouse, 3rd floor, Marina View. Do I need to do anything else?

Thanks.

Ernie

Since your requests are on your reservation, there's nothing else you need to do.

Most resorts are no longer accepting room request faxes.

We went through AAA-should we contact our travel agent who we booked through? We were thinking we could just call Disney reservations.

As long as the OP has the reservation number I can't think of any reason why they could not call Disney Reservations directly. I know plenty of folks who booked rooms through a travel agent and subsequently called Disney directly to make any special requests.

You should wait until the last week before your stay.

AKL room requests

We're(DW, DS5 and myself) staying at AKL pool room/standard in January . This is the first time we've ever been there so we don't really know the lay out. What room requests would be beneficial to us to make it a better experience.

P.S. - we know the pool is being renovated

We personally liked our Pool View room on Zebra Trail. The hallway has viewing windows, so as you walk to your room you can look out to one side and see the pool and look out the other side and see animals. Have a super trip...you're gonna love it.

You will see the request on any documentation you get from Disney and note it will say something like this:

PLEASE NOTE: REQ BLD 28 NOT GTD

I called today to request a room with a parking lot view at POFQ.

You also want to list your requests in order of their importance to you. And you want to be somewhat open to description; you don't want to hem yourself into something they cannot fulfill.

As the PP poster says, it says right on your ressie, it is never guaranteed - especially during some of their busier times.
