Kidani 1 Bedroom Room and View Pictures

Got back about 2 weeks ago and thought some people might enjoy these pictures! We were in a 1 bedroom in Kidani. It was room 7763 and it was categorized as a standard view, but I thought we had a great view!!! It was quite a hike to the lobby, but I didn't mind because I felt lucky to have a slight savannah view. We had a car as well so we could park in Pumbaa and take the elevator right up to our room and avoid the long walk. We absolutely fell in love with Kidani and can't wait to go back! Only complaint...the gym is way too small. Each time I went all the machines were already taken.

Taken from the balcony:

This guy made me laugh. He seemed to always be hiding in there. Maybe because it was so hot!!

The balconies here seemed really huge

I'm going to put the room pictures in the next post...still need to upload them to photobucket.

Oops, I found one more view picture!

My family made endless fun of me for how excited I got about this. I just thought it was really cool! I mean, how often do you get to sit on a balcony and look at that?! It's Expedition Everest and the tree of life looking to the right off our balcony.

Those are great views! Love the okapi and your friend in the weeds! What is really unique though is your EE and Tree of Life picture! Very Cool and thanks for sharing!

2nd bathroom right off entry:

Entryway:

Kitchen seating area. Sorry, we had stuff everywhere!

Pictures above the couch:

Kitchen:

The hat is part of my Jessie costume I made for the Halloween party...lol.

I didn't get a picture of the sleeper chair and the sleep sofa both opened, but when they were open the corners definitely touched and there was very little walking space. A very angsty 18 year old was sleeping in the fold out chair and I was given specific instructions not to touch her bed so I don't have a picture of the chair folded up either. I was trying to keep the peace! She did say it was very comfortable.

Okay, going to upload pictures of the master bedroom and bathroom!

Comfy bed!

TV/dresser across from bed:

We called this the rainforest shower. So relaxing!

I loved the border. I would have it in my home if I could!

Counter/sink area in the master bathroom:

It was nice to have all the storage area underneath.

Closet in the master bedroom:

Well, I think that's all of them!

Awesome...this is the pic I want to save to share with those who say AKV is "so far removed from everything"....and "out in the boondocks" and other similar comments I've heard etc. I've actually heard some comments to the effect of it's "like staying offsite" . Anyway, thanks for sharing and glad u had a nice vacation.

Looks like you had an awesome view, not only able to see savannah but also the theme park icons! That view is way better than my Jambo Savannah View in April, all we saw was one antelope and an ostrich once in a while! Of course that was the period of time when they were gradually reintroducing the animals to Sunset Savannah.

Feel free to share it anytime! Like staying offsite???!!! That's crazy. In what offsite hotel do I get to have a Lion King themed bathroom!

Thanks for all the comments. I guess we really lucked out with that view! The only thing I can think is that our flight didn't land until after midnight and it was close to 2am when we checked in. Maybe all the standard views had already been given out and this is what they had left! There were definitely no giraffes or any other animals like that visible from our balcony so maybe that's why it wasn't savannah view? All we saw were okapi, those grey animals, and an occasional big black bird or 2. Either way, we felt very lucky!

I have a standard 1 bedroom booked now...maybe I'll put in a request for that room #. Exactly how far of a hike was it to the lobby and Jambo? My mom will be in a wheelchair, so pushing her is exhausting at times, but this would be a great surprise if we actually were able to see animals...might be worth it.

Great pics! We're planning on booking AKV for our 5 year anniversary in 2011. (We've already booked a MK view at BLT for 2010)

So you had a "standard view" room and it was actually a Savanna view? I think they may have given you that one as a gift. Standard view is supposed to be pool or parking lot at Kidani. How great that you got to see the Okapi from your room!
