Chicken exit for TOT?
I'm a big fan of TOT but my wife absolutely refuses to ride it. I think I've finally got her convinced to at least go through the Lobby and Library to see what it's like then take the chicken exit, but I began to question myself. It does have a chicken exit, doesn't it? Is it after you leave the Library?

Any and all Disney rides have a chicken exit! You're not commited until you're strapped in the ride vehicle!

There is a chicken exit right before the riders get on the ride elevator. But the chicken exit is an elevator, too, which is kind of creepy. You just don't sit down and get strapped in it.

A couple of trips back mom & I had DS12 & DD9 do the line with us, since that's a big part of the attraction. Then we waited together in the que for the elevators, hoping they'd decide to stick it out (both were big chickens.) As we approached we told the CM they weren't riding, and he escorted them out - with a very stern look, totally in character! You should have seen the looks on the kids faces as they followed him...

When DS was 8, the CM's gave her a miniature outfit to wear, and when we exited the ride, she was greeting everyone. "Welcome to the....." I forget what it's called. Anyway, she was real cute.

That is so funny! I was going to say that my DS9 stood in line with us and decided to opt out. The CM escorted him personally down that ominous middle elevator and he waited down where the hallway is to exit the ride.

there is definitly a chicken exit where the elevators are, and like a prev poster said, it is also an elevator. Once you take it you are brought into the room where riders can view thier ride pictures and wait for the rest of your family there
i know this for a fact because i chickened out of ToT this summer, much to my boyfriend's dismay. lol

My oldest dd chickened out when she was 6. Made it all the way to loading the elevator...couldn't do it! The CM was super nice, took her downstairs and waited with her while the rest of us rode it. Her 4yo sisters, btw, LOVED it and still say it was their most favorite ride at all of Disney!

I now can't get enough of ToT, but our first visit in 1999, I "chickened" out three times.
The first time I just sent my kids off to check it out first. Next I walked to the queue line and waited for them at the exit where you can look at your photos. I had heard there was a chicken elevator, but didn't trust that there was. The third time I got all the way through the queue and when the elevator door opened for us to get on, I asked for the chicken elevator. I thought it looked too claustrophic for me - plus I was a little worried about the drops in the dark. I was SO disappointed in myself because I didn't know if or when we would ever get back and I really wanted to say that I rode it. The CM on the elevator was so nice. He said I didn't chicken out - I just chose a different way. |
