Not quite 40"

My child is 3 1/2, but not quite 40". He is actually just over 39" with shoes. How stringent are they on the height requirements? Anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks!!

Stringent..... There will be a measuring device at the start of the queue with a CM posted. If your child's head doesn't hit the mark in normal street shoes, it's a "no go". I've also seen kids re-checked in the loading area, including my own.

Definitely stringent. If they don't hit the mark on the stick they don't go. Know from experience with my youngest. It's a safety thing, they aren't going to let kids just slide and then be liable if something happens.

Probably some frustration for the fact that this same question seems to be asked at least twice a day on this forum and every time it devolves into the same nastiness. They're probably just trying to advance the discussion to it's eventual end as quickly as possible.

There sure are a lot of almost-40" kids out there.

try to remember that it is a new question to the OP even if it is a very worn out one to most of us "hardened veterans" LOL

They are certainly stringent about the height policy. The policy is in place for the safely of the rider, so for this reason they take it seriously.

Just a side note: I am not saying you plan to do this, but I have seen parents put "chunky" shoes on their kids to get them onto ride - I have seen CMs ask them to remove their shoes to see how much that shoe gives them a boost.

I issed the "extra bun for double cheeseburger" thread. That sounds like it was probably a fun one.

Josie, when is your trip? If it's a month or more away, your child may grow that extra bit by then. All I can recommend is extra protein and Vitamin C. Good luck!

where did the OP state or even imply that they weren't planning on following the rules?

I'm sorry but there is no need to be rude to this poor person. They just asked a question. If you pay attention to their siggy maybe you would see that they are new to the boards and have very few (single digit posts). I thought the purpose of the board was to offer help and share experiences? They just asked a simple question. They did not ask how to nor imply that they were planning on cheating in any way.
Jeez people....

Well maybe it seems to be common sense to you. But this new poster asked a simple question. If you don't like the question, close the thread and move on.

OP, Welcome to the Dis. If you haven't figured out by the rudeness of 'some' of the previous posts, this is a 'HOT' topic here on the boards. Many people will purposely post about how to cheat to make your child taller, etc... My experiences (from in the past) are they will measure your child at the entrance to the ride. Make sure you tell your child to stand nice and tall as they want their head to touch the bar. I have heard that CMs can require a child to remove shoes w/ thick soles. I have NEVER witnessed it myself. If your child is close in height, they 'may' get measured again just prior to boarding. I have heard to ride the 'measured' rides earlier in the day, as people tend to shrink a little over the course of the day. Not sure if it's true, but certainly can't hurt. I hope everything goes wonderfully well on your trip. And I hope that some of the previous snarky comments don't keep you from coming back to the boards and asking questions.
