The value rooms are approximately 3 ft shorter. (and that 3 feet is cut off of the window/balcony end of the room) - so the bathroom/kitchen areas are the same as the regular rooms.

standard room at Jambo is pool view.
value rooms (only at Jambo) can be savannah, pool, or parking lot view.

Standard = view

So from a value room I might actually see the Savanah but from a more expensive standard only the pool? Seems a little odd

that's why I've got a value 1 BR. I won't be disappointed in a PL view, but would rather save those 30 extra points.

We are checking into an AKV 1bdrm Value next Saturday. It will be our first time in a Value and I am keeping my fingers crossed for something other than a parking lot view

The Value rooms cost fewer points because they are smaller. They accommodate fewer guests in the 1BRs/2BRs since the Value rooms are too small for the sleeper chair. The Value studios accommodate 4 guests just as the larger AKV studios do but they have less storage space in the room since you don't get a storage bench in a Value studio. The balconies of the Value rooms are not as deep as the balconies on the other AKV rooms -- there is barely room for two people to squeeze past each other on the balcony. So it has nothing to do with the view which could be the Sunset Savanna, the pool area or the parking lot. It's due to the rooms being 3 feet shorter, the balcony being smaller, having less storage space and accommodating fewer people in the 1BR/2BRs.

Standard View rooms are larger, the 1BR/2BRs accommodate an extra person (5/9 vs 4/8 for the Value 1BR/2BR), but the view is either pool (Jambo House) or pool, garden or parking lot (Kidani).

Savanna View rooms are the same size as Standard View rooms but cost more because you have a savanna view.

Concierge rooms are the same size as Standard View and Savanna View rooms but cost more because of the services received (the staff will make your ADRs, you get daily housekeeping) and the access to the lounge (food and beverages).

I just returned from a value studio at AKV, and although I used to be a loyal BCV follower, these AKV value studios are really converting me. Butternut Squash soup at Mara, a view that was no less desirable than at BCV, reading in the Sunset Savannah lounge (I think it's called, right off the lobby), two vanity sinks (BCV studios only have one). I LOVED it there! And as they let me know at check-in, you can utilize all the facilities at Kidani Village also, so I went over for the cultural tour of Sanaa and free appetizers, and partook in their movies at the pool there.

We had a value 1BR in June and it was great! As long as my kids are still young (ages 4 and 6) we will stick to the values and save the points. The room has all of the same amenities as the standard 1BR--- washer/dryer, full kitchen, jacuzzi tub, etc--- but it is a little smaller. We noticed the size difference, but it wasn't a deal breaker. I would much rather save the points and have a little less space than have a guaranteed view.

Here is the view from our "value" room...

For our particular stay (Su-Wed), a savanna-view category 1BR would have been another 28 points! We only own 100 points so the value category gives us a chance of a great savanna view for less points.
