14, 12 and 3 Year Olds - Which Resort?

My DW and I are new DVC members with a 14 year old DD, a 12 year old DS and a 3 year old DS. We are preparing to book our first trip (last week in March 2010) and are looking for recommendations on the best resort based on our kids' varied ages. The older kids want a good pool. Magic Kingdom and Epcot are our two favorite parks. We like casual dining restaurants, especially with our 3 year old. Your feedback is much appreciated.

BCV, awesome food at Cape May, and the other restaurants there. Walk right into Epcot or over to Boardwalk for more restaurants. Boat to DHS, and Monorail to Magic Kingdom.

And the pool is to die for if your a kid.....

While I haven't stayed there yet, from all that I have read, BCV has a wonderful pool and for the older kids, that might be a great choice. It is also near the Boardwalk and may give you some things for that.

As far as Dining, you are close to both Epcot and HS and can walk there so in addition to whatever is available at the resorts, you have the parks to supplement.

Since you are travelling at one of the busiest times of the year, you may not have your first choice of resorts, since it's now 5 months out. Don't get your heart set on staying at a particular resort, until you find out if they have availability.

I agree, I'd shoot for BCV or BWV. You've got Beaches & Cream right there and that makes for a fun night for all the kids ages. You've got ESPN on the BW which your 14 year old might like, (it has an arcade and lots and lots of TV's for sports). There's the BW strolling entertainment at night, which is also good for the all of your children, and the pools at both are awesome.

Have a great trip!

The last week in March 2010 is Easter Week and chances are there may not be a lot of availabilty for the more popular choices. I have children about the same ages and the best choices would be: BCV for the pool and proximity to Epcot; BWV for community hall, evening entertainment on the boardwalk; and proximity to Epcot and DHS, and BLT for proximity to MK. We have stayed at BCV and BWV during the week following Easter and will be staying at BLT during the week before Easter 2010. I really can't rate these choices because I love them all. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Smile SSR and OKW are very nice

You may find for that week at 5 months out your only choices may be SSR or OKW. We love both resorts. Our kids like both of their pools, they are both a nice boat ride to DTD, and lots of restaurants in DTD. Good luck with your first trip, I am sure you will enjoy it wherever you end up.
