La Spezia question...

Hi everyone! I know that Florence is a major attraction from La Spezia (I read many reviews that were less than thrilled) but I am not sure I want to dedicate that kind of travel time (I hope to get back to Tuscany some day soon anyway!) so I was wondering if there were any other tours offered in 2007 like of the Italian country side, wineries etc. I would like to see Pisa. Thanks!

PS - Disney has not released the excursions yet so I appreciate any feedback!

Florence is a magnificent city, but there's no way that one day can do it justice. I think I spent a week there on my "grand tour" of Europe and it's definitely on the list of places I'd go back to. That said, I don't think I'd do it as a day trip from a cruise ship. It's easy to do on your own on a land trip, it's relatively inexpensive (compared to some cities), and you need more TIME!

We really wanted to do Florence as well but the ride was too long for us as well. Especially since Rome took alot out of us. We did the Pisa tour and it was nice and relaxing. We didn't get to go up in the tower as that was already booked.

Annie- I know...are they serious? Well I am sure there are some folks on the boat who could afford that. Imagine a family of four

xangav- yeah I think that's what we are going to do. Did you have time afterward to walk around one of the cinque terre towns if you wanted to? (on your own after excursion?)

We are deciding between the Pisa thing and a wine tour sort of thing. i guess I will make my decision after the excursions come out...oh and after I book my trip which I am doing today.
