Touring Plan for Sea World?

Any advice on how to tour Sea World? I assume I want to hit Manta first (and maybe two more times later. Flying coasters are my favorite!) Which shows are the most important to see? Any I can skip?

Thanks

I just watched some youtube videos. It makes me think the kids would like the pet show better than Allure if I have to miss one. What do you think?

I would try to get there at opening time if you are interested in riding Manta multiple times. Ride it as soon as you get in the park, and then check the line when get off & if not too long ride it again. THe lines for Krakin and Journey to Atlantis will be short early morning & it would probably be best to ride those after you ride Manta. All of the show are goods - you will get varying opinions on which are better. I would definitely do Believe and Blue Horizons; and, if you have younger children, they would probably enjoy Clyde and Seymour and Pets Ahoy over Allure. Allure is very well done, but younger children would probably get bored compared to the other shows. The Wild Artic ride is OK, but does not really compare to the simulator rides at Disney and Universal. If you are pressed for time, I would skip it.

Thumbs up the circus show in the back by the sharks

The Nautilus theatre has an awesome show like CirqueDuSoleil. It is a must see, and amazing to watch.

The pet show is really cute so I'm sure your kids would love it.

Thanks for the help so far. A couple of other questions have occured to me:

We're thinking of eating at the Smokehouse place. Anyone know what that's like? (prices, choices, etc.)

Shamu's big show is at 12:30 and 5:00. Any major reason why I wouldn't want to go at 5:00? There doesn't seem to be hardly anything over there, so I don't want to go back and forth, though I am hoping to ride Manta one more time after the show since the park closes at 6:00pm.

How long is the wait going to be for 'Wild Arctic' on a Thursday right before or right after the Shamu show? (Come on, I know you guys can see the future )

1. I am 60 and I even prefer Clyde over Allure. I find allure boring and just a respit out of the heat once in a blue moon.

2. If you are going to SW on a weekend starting Nov13( I think) or after Thanksgiving daily, they transform Wild Arctic to the Polar Express which is really impressive. Bonus over other parks simulator rides is that it takes you into an area where there are real beluga whales, polar bears, and walrus. If it is Polar Express there will be great family photo opportunities and a great Santa.
I would not skip Wild Arctic.

Pets Ahoy has some beautiful animals and we try to go to it every time we are there. If you have small kids there is also a Sesame Street show that they might like. Haven't seen it; but my 3 year old niece loved it. Her 9 year old brother was a little bored, though. I think they do that show year round now.

After Thanksgiving there will be some special Christmas shows, too. Instead of Shamu Rocks at closing they do a Shamu
Show called Christmas Miracles I think.

Voyagers, the BBQ place is very good. So is Mango Joes if you like fajitas and things like that. If you plan on staying from open to close, you might want to consider the all you can eat all day meal plan. There are 5 restaurants on the plan and both are included( just can't get the baby back ribs on the plan). Each time you go in you get an entre, drink, dessert or side. You can pop in for drinks and sides or desserts between meals all day long. Just can't share with someone without the wrist band and supposed to stay in the area. We usually grab fruit and a drink and eat walking to next ride or while waiting to ride.

Menu for Voyagers -----http://www.seaworld.com/sitepage.aspx?PageID=551
It is too hot for us to go in the summer, so haven't been since June. We got the wristbands for $29.99 or whatever the Annual pass price was so didn't pay attention to prices. Platters of BBq chicken were somewhere around $10-13 I think. Includes meat, fries, and roll. Might be prices somewhere on line if you do a menu search for SW.

The wait for WA will depend on what day and time of year you are there. We avoid it after a Shamu Show like the plague though. Too many people go from the show to the line for Arctic. Waits for Polar Express might be longer than if it is just the helicopter simulator ride that is normally there.
As for what Shamu Show to go to.....the shows are always different and depend on what trainers are there that day and what the whales feel like doing. Show is usually awesome no matter which you go to.

You mentioned kids so sometime soon after Manta you might want to schedule in feeding the dolphins. Also be sure to take them into the new aquarium at Manta. It is awesome.
