Oompah Band at Biergarten?

My family is considering trying Biergarten on our next trip to WDW. My sister and her family had dinner there and loved it. While they liked the food, it was the band that really made the experience memorable. When her friend ate at Biergarten there was no band. She said that her experience was not great and that she would not return based on the food alone.

What is the schedule for the oompah band at the Biergarten? Is it the food, the band, or both that make this a memorable dining experience?

Google Steve Soares. His web site has all the show times for the week. But I don't think they change much. I have res. for 630 and the show is at 700. Have fun.

Here's the current schedule:

Daily at 12:30, 1:20, 2:10, 3:00, 4:30, 5:40, 6:50 & 8:15pm
Length of show: 25 minutes

As you can see, it's almost impossible to have your entire meal and not see at least some of the band. The band plays every day of the week so it would be interesting to know when your friend ate there (years ago, there was no performance at lunch).

We usually will try for a time about fifteen minutes before the band begins. We're able to get seated, order drinks, and get our first plate of food before the show. We eat during the show and then pay and leave after. It works very well for us.

I totally agree with this. We have been several times and never missed the band. Of course, our ADR's have always been after 12pm.

Thank you all for your input. I appreciate the advice about how to time a meal around show times. After talking with my sister, we don't understand how her friend could have missed the band. It seems almost impossible!

Thanks again!

Depending on when you go, we've experienced both situations! Last Jan. '09 we didn't realize the band would not be playing. I believe it was around 8 pm, so be careful, especially in Jan when parks close earlier. We're going this Jan and I didn't take a chance and made a 6 pm ADR!

My family likes the food and the entertainment. My DS15 could go there every day if it was up to him. We especially like it on Thanksgiving.
