DVC Studio vs Std Hotel Room?
I know DVC villas don't come with mousekeeping but other than that, how do they compare? Specifically, I'm wondering about a std view at the Grand Floridian vs a Studio at BLT. Using rented points a studio would be a bit cheaper than the GF but an actual 1 bedroom is out of our budget.
Thanks |

If you book a DVC resort on a cash reservation, you'll get daily housekeeping just as you would at any resort. The limited housekeeping schedule is only for points stays.
The BLT studio will have a queen bed and a sofa bed, and will sleep 4. There will be a kitchenette with a microwave and toaster, coffeemaker and refrigerator. The GF room will have two queen beds and a daybed (twin-sized), a coffeemaker and fridge. |

In my opinion unless you own DVC a studio is not worth it. If there were only four in my party I would go with a regular room. We have five with three of us being little boys. We decided to go with BLT one-bedroom. If there were only four of us though we would probably be going to the Poly.

We're DVC members and usually book a studio. Since it's just my DH and me, it works for us, and we like having the sofa. However, if you have more people in your party, I would book a standard room. (The sofa beds are not comfortable at all!)

I am an owner at BLT. If the price difference is small I would book the GF. I would pick the two beds and the room service at GF over a BLT studio. Now if you were comparing MK view then you have to decide if that is worth a sofa bed. For some that is. The GF Standard view will not have a MK view (unless you get some pixie dust and get upgraded.)
I haven't stayed at BLT, but the sofa beds at SSR were very comfy. Happy planning!

The BLT studio is an architectural mistake. They couldn't fit the bathroom sink inside the bathroom, so it shares the space with the kitchenette. Your back is to the kitchenette when you are at the bathroom sink. If you are pouring coffee from the coffee maker, your back is to the bathroom sink. There is only room for one person at a time in that space.
The space between the queen sized bed and the double sized sleeper sofa is about 18 inches. There is little or no room between the wall and the bed and between the sleeper sofa and the window. The BLT studio is only suitable for two persons who like each other a lot.

OKW and VWL Homes Yellowstone was amazing and is a lot more inviting than Disney right now. Could we be selling it all in the near future? Maybe. |
