Ticket question......first time Uni visitor

OK, I am biting the bullet and have finally agreed to spend a day at Universal Studios (or IOA??) with my family. We will be staying off site.

I have learned that there is an Express Plus Pass that will give us FOTL access (yes, I know, just one time for each ride) but here is my question. We usually buy from Undercover Tourist, but I see that the Express Pass is not included in any of their ticket options. Do I have to buy the regular admission ticket (from UT) then get the EP at the gate? Is that the only way to do it? I was hoping to have everything (entrance ticket AND Express Pass) ready to go ahead of time.
Is that possible, or can I only buy the EP at the gate?

TIA,Karen

The EP can be purchased at either park in most stores. However...it's usually recommended to wait until you arrive to purchase the EP as you may not need it.

Thank you, again, Metro West.
From your answer it seems that the EP would not be purchased at the gate exactly, but in a store, I guess at the entrance to the park?

TIA, Karen

You can purchase them at the gate but you'll have to wait in the long lines at the ticket windows and if it's a slower day where the lines aren't too long, you would be wasting your money. The main stores inside each park are right in the front of the parks.

It is available at most stores throughout the parks.

i don't know the dates you plan to be at UO.

this link will show you the cost of the epp for the next few months.
https://secure.universalstudios.com/...ternalID=UOUEP

if the cost for the day you plan to go is $19.99 for the epp, don't buy them.

when the epp is that low, it is an indicator of a low crowd day in the park.

like the other homies posted, wait until you are in the park to make the decision of needing the epp.

Ep

We are planning on going to Univ Studios on Dec 23 with rewards miles. Planning on getting EP(25.99 that day), do these ever run out or can we wait till we get there?

dave, with the epp at that price, the day should not be a crowded one.

get to the park before it opens, do everything you want and then decide if you need the epp for the rest of the day.

if you started at one park and the lines at the other side are lengthy, then consider buying the epp for that park.

at that low price, i doubt they would run out of them.
