It’s a “Wonder” I survived Trip Report: Day 4 – Can I walk??? MNSSHP or not? - The DIS Discussion Forums

The cast:
Me – Disney obsessed, Shopaholic & extremely clumsy…..
Lee (DH) – aka the Mad Hatter….

11th September 2009 = Day 4

I woke at around 8am and couldn’t stand on my foot.

It was swollen up really bad and the top of my foot was a lovely shade of purple!

I was in agony so took some pain killers and stayed in bed with my foot elevated on several pillows. Lee went up to the shop at OKW and got me some magazines to read and also hired two dvd’s, Pretty Woman (one of my fave films) and Beaches – he said they didn’t have much choice but failed to get me the obvious……DISNEY films!

Later on about lunch time Lee went up to the Counter Service place and got us both a cheeseburger and onion rings. The whole day was literally spent with me sleeping and resting up in bed, unfortunately this mean’t that we didn’t get to meet up for an afternoon cocktail or two with Karen (CustardTart) & Richard....not that I could have drunk anything anyway as I had taken several pain killers!

Sadly they were off on their cruise the next day so we couldn’t rearrange.

Next time Karen!!!!

We had tickets to our first ever Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party for this evening and by 5.30pm I was begging Lee that I would be ok to go….I had been looking forward to it for so long and was so fed up. I just didn’t want to miss anymore of our holiday, I promised not to over do it and would tell him if it was hurting too much, reluctantly he agreed!

We got ready and caught the bus to Magic Kingdom arriving at about 6.45pm.

We got our special event wristbands and then headed up Main Street and over to Buzz, it was walk on so we went on twice – as always Lee won. As we walked past Cosmic Rays they were having one of the dance parties so we stopped in to watch Goofy, Pluto & Stitch having a little boogie.

Then we walked over towards ToonTown to have a look at the decorations:

We then walked to Fantasyland and went on Peter Pan’s flight, we’ve never been on this ride before.

It was almost time for the “Boo to you” parade so we got a spot near the liberty bell. These guys stopped and sang happy birthday and a few other songs to the group standing next to us:

We both loved the parade, especially the music (Later in the evening I bought a special events cd which has the Halloween party music on from a shop on Main St).

We stopped off at Aloha Isle to get a Dole whip pineapple float…..our first! It was yummy. We headed back to Main Street and popped in a couple of the shops to look at the special event merchandise, I got some MNSSHP pins. They didn’t have much else just some t-shirts a bit disappointing really. We were feeling a little hungry so we grabbed a hot dog each from Caseys and ate that just in time for the start of HalloWishes!

Not too many photos I’m afraid as we didn’t have a tripod with us, so not much point taking them without as they are just blurred.

They were AMAZING!

Now I love the normal Wishes display but HalloWishes were even better! We decided to head out of the park as my ankle was hurting a little and I didn’t want to make it worse. We took a few pics on the way out:

We got some Photopass pics taken too, although they all seem to be blurred from that night but here is one:

We got a bus back to OKW about 10.30pm. We really enjoyed the party and was surprised at how many people actually dressed up, we thought as it was only the 11th September that people would wait until nearer the time but there were quite a few, some really good one's too.

Finally I'll finish off with a pic of our Trick or Treat Candy, we didn’t get much as we didn’t go through many of the collection points but we saw people with several “full to the brim” bags!

so glad you managed to get to MNSSHP, your photos are amazing,the boo to you parade is my favourite, i love the grave diggers too, I have the cd and am driving everybody mad with it at the moment

Sooooo sorry we didn't meet

but you didn't miss much to be honest - the Outer Rim didn't actually open till 4.30pm so there wasn't so much as a shandy to be had!!!

We'll make a date soon, I promise...

Anyway, I'm crossing my fingers that your ankle recovers from here, hun...
