Can you take the dcl bus transfers a day early?
If you are staying onsite SSR and are taking the DCL Bus transfers to the Port, can you go a day early? or your only option is to go on the day of your schedule cruise?

Day of cruise only since the bus only goes to the port in that area.

I think what the above means is that the DCL bus only runs to the port on days with sailings....which is accurate. To get there a day early you'd need a car service or rental car. However, these methods would be cheaper as well.

Check out www.mousesavers.com for some great rental car code discoutns if you are thinking about a rental. The drive is super easy and about an hour. Very little turns. The rental 4 closest agencies in the port area are Avis, Hertz, Budget, Thrifty/Dollar. You can do a one-way from the WDW area to the port the day before your cruise. Drop your car off at one of the locations above and then take the rental shuttle bus to the port. Very easy to day. Also, as mentioned, a car service would be good but then you don't have a car if you wanted it to go to dinner or for supplies before your cruise. Good luck with your decisions!! MJ MJ

Even if there is a cruise the day before you sail (Saturday/Sunday, for example) you will not be allowed to take the bus until your sail date. The buses enter the terminal grounds and that area is for passengers only. In addition, luggage is automatically off-loaded to the ship so your belongings would be sailing on a completely different ship!
My advice would be to do a one-way car rental rather than the DCL bus. It is far cheaper and will allow you to head to the port a day early, something we always like to do. Budget, Thrifty, Avis, Hertz and Dollar all offer free shuttles to/from the port from their local offices so it's a very easy process. |
