Oh, Man! Changing ressie not lookin' good

Ugh, ugh, ugh! My son lost his job last week, throwing our Dec. plans into a tizzy! I was up at the crack of dawn to book BLT MK 2 BR the first day we could book, and unless my son gets another job fast, it will all be for naught.

We're booked from Dec. 13-15 in the 2 BR MK view, and then 2 days in a 1 BR LV after they leave--they're spending 3 days with the other in laws before we arrive. I'm trying to cobble something together to avoid using Wednesday and Thursday in the 1 BR- it's a vacation issue for me at work(really losing brownie points by taking the whole week since I job share).

We would have come in Friday but there was much negative discussion about us impinging on the other in laws even though we promised to stay out of our grandchildren's sight! and of course, we're using borrowed points so there's no cancelling the whole thing at this point.

So, hoping to check availability for either Friday-Sat in a studio or just Sat in a 1 BR Ijust called MS--there are no studios at all anywhere for the nights of Dec. 11 and 12, which I pretty much knew already. What totally amazed me was that there's only a 1 BR at OKW for the 12th!

So this is just a vent--this is why taking other people isn't always the greatest idea! We haven't been there with them since 2007 and were really looking forward to it--now we're scrambling to make this work without losing or wasting beaucoup points.

And we won't be able to book MK BLT next Dec b/c we borrowed points. That was for the kids, not for us.

We are at SSR during Halloween and trying desperately to change ressie to either Boardwalk, Beach Club or Wilderness. For months none of them have had any openings during that 4 day period, not even a 2 night window.

But MS said lots are canceling due to the flu so you may have to wait till the last minute but something may open. They said to call around 12pm and 4pm every day which I am doing. Good luck.

Well first I hope everything works out for your son and that you are able to patch together the perfect vacation.

Second, I just have to say WOW! I can't believe the other grandparents aren't willing to share time with the grandkids. Well I guess we know who the grandkids favorite grandparents are. Those other grandparents just can't compete with your fabulosity.

Well, they have the home advantage--they live in the same town! We're more of a novelty act lol. They'd probably share just fine--we all went to South Padre in 2008--but my son and DIL don't want them to feel bad when--oops, I mean if-- the kids prefer to be with us and ignore them. They've never been to Disney with them and we have.

We'll keep calling until the last minute--still praying he'll get a job fast but it just takes forever these days.
