The wife and I looked at the menu because we heard so much about it and it doesn't do it for us.

Can anyone give us some suggestions for another romantic type of restaurant?

There are so many restaurants at Disney that would be great for a romantic type meal, but here are a few that I think might be worth investigating further.

Bistro De Paris - EPCOT

I haven't been here yet, but have heard somany great things about it I hope to try it soon! Has a fixed price menu with wine pairings or you can buy a la carte. It is also not on the DDP, so you are less likely to find a crowded venue, and there should be a more adult and discreet clientelle.

California Grill - Contemporary Resort

You just cant beat watching the fireworks while at the California Grill. The food is great and view of the Magic Kingdom stellar. No guarantees that you will get a good view although you can always go to the viewing area to watch.

Citricos - Grand Floridian Resort

One of my personal favourites, it has a great upscale feel to it and fantastic menu.

Artist Point - Wilderness Lodge

One of the quieter signature restaurants, with great food and a lovely setting, especially if you get a seat at the window overlooking the grounds!

Thats about all to recommend from me. Hope this helps!

I'll second the recommendation for California Grill. DW and I went there as part of our tenth anniversary trip, and it was quite nice.

Artist Point (at Wilderness Lodge), Bistro de Paris (Epcot), Jiko (Animal Kingdom Lodge), Citricos (Grand Floridian), Hollywood Brown Derby (DHS), and The Wave (Contemporary) are all other possibilities. They are all sit-down, and generally quiet enough for conversation, which is not generally the case with buffets or counter-service.

I second the previous recommendations for Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge-you can take the boat over when you go from the Contemporary and it's both beautiful AND romantic

Also- the California Grill at the Contemporary sounds lovely-especially if you can time your reservation with Wishes

The restaurant with the best and most romantic atmosphere we ate at was San Angel Inn (epcot). This places was truly a gem most people don't realize. I know some don't like it on the boards but I say try it and then decide.
It is very "secluded" feeling, dark, but lit just right. The boat ride in the mexican pavillon floats thru the restaurant adding to the ambiance.
Food was good too. It is not tex-mex style but more traditional mexican food, which if you are not aware of may throw off your taste for the food. While there DH had the chicken mole....oh was very good. I had the sirloin with black beans and plantains, goodness so good!!
I highly recommend the place for a romantic dinner.

If you are looking for a 1TS restaurant, I would say the Grand Floridian Cafe at the Grand Floridian, Le Cellier in Epcot, or Mama Melrose's in Hollywood Studios.

Edited to add Tutto Italia in Epcot. Very romantic feel to the restaurant.

We went on our honeymoon last week and our extra special reservations we made were for Cali Grill, Citricos, Le Cellier, and Hollywood Brown Derby. We loved all of them, but the most romantic was definitely Citricos. It's very quiet and relaxing, and not as large as the other restaurants. The other restaurants are wonderful, but Citricos is definitely the most intimate for a romantic dinner.

While you're checking them out, take a look at Todd English's Blue Zoo at the Dolphin. Definately romantic, quite different and excellent food.

I would add Narcoossee's to the list. Great food, service and atmosphere. You can also watch Wishes.

I would say Bistro de Paris, upstairs in the France Pavilion in Epcot. They do not have a children's menu, and small (noisy) children are discouraged. It definitely is fine dining, and they do not take DDP but do take the TiW discount card.
