The Wrigglemonster finds Nehmaw trip report! - Day 3

DING! DING! Day 3!

So we're up and at 'em again. Nice and early. We've got a ADR for Cape May's at 8:40am using the transportation systems so want to get there with loads of time.

As we walk across the bridge of our home for the next 2 weeks, towards the lobby, it's nice and warm. Not roasting but just pleasant. We head out the front door and meet the nicest CM at POR (can't remember his name unfortunately but he was literally there everyday we were, he was a really nice guy) who presents the Wrigglemonster with a Mardi Gras coin. He asks where we're heading and we explain we're trying to get the bus to the Beach Club and he offers up we can either get the bus or walk it from Hollywood Studios. He asks when our ADR is (this is roughly at 7:00am). When we tell him it's at 8:40am, he tells us we've got plenty of time, and to an extent we did.

So we head off on the bus and it hits me! This is EMH morning at Hollywood Studios, so the bus is fairly busy. Luckily for us, we're not heading there today. We got off at DHS and see the fairly big queues waiting to get in. Bus or Walk? Bus or Walk?

We opt to walk...in the wrong direction! I thought the path towards the Beach Club was beside the boat. It wasn't. It was actually just next to where we got off the bus. Dad's fault. We find I quite often end up going the wrong way quite a lot, especially towards the end (it's that jet lag! ).

It was actually a really nice walk, and a lot more how I imagined our holiday beginning. I think it was one of Mallinda's favourite days' and mine.

The Wrigglemonster wasn't yet aware she would later be going toe to toe with the Duck, the Dog that speaks, and Mrs Mouse!

It's so peaceful and it only takes about 20 minutes to get to the Beach Club / Boardwalk. On the way we see the Swan and Dolphin:

A boat travelling downstream to the S & D (the boat we could've gotten on). I thought we'd be quicker walking as having used the boat before, found it took some time to get to where we needed to be in the time frame we had.

On the way, I randomly take a photo of a sign to Boardwalk (hey, I said I was on holiday!). Another photo of the S & D, then another photo of Mallinda and the Wrigglemonster:

We then head over the small bridge that takes you on to where Boardwalk and the Beach Club are. It really wasn't a long walk at all. As we're a bit early (we get there at around 8:30am), we take the Wrigglemonster for a little walk around the Beach Club where she bumps into a few of the staff that give out the “she's so cute” that we get used to around this holiday :D

After about 5 minutes, our buzzer goes off and we head towards the front of Cape May's where we are then lead to our table. On the way, we re shown where all the food is and in which section. We're seated in a small area off to the right as you go on. There were only 4 tables there, and it looked as though it was specifically for people with really young kids which was good. Another huge bonus was with it being such a small area, the characters were a lot more close in with all the families than when out in the main restaurant.

For a little while, the Wrigglemonster entertains herself with some Crayola's and a colouring in page:

Whilst I head off for some food for me and the Monster. I pick up a selection of things including biscuits, bacon, scrambled egg, mickey waffles and sausages. The Monster is very partial to a bit of scrambled egg. As I seat feeding the monster, Mallinda heads off for some fruit and before long, we're greeted by the first of our characters':

The Monster got a big surprise when she turned round and behind her was Goofy. It was what made this trip all worthwhile. She didn't scream or freakout. She laughed and pointed and it just made your heart melt.

She played around a bit with him, much to another lot of 'awws'. Goofy then pottered about a bit and then left to greet the other guests.

Before long, Minnie Mouse popped in to say hello. At this point the Monster was just getting into the swing of things and whilst she did like Minnie, she seemed to respond better to Goofy, but mostly Donald who seems to be her, and a lot of other kids' favourites.

I then got a quick smooch on the sly as Mallinda wasn't watching

Then we were introduced to the phenomenon that was Donald Duck. The reason I say this is because as soon as he entered our little area, the room just erupted. Kids went crazy for him...until he left! That's right, he walked in to our area and quickly turned around then left. The kids then changed from chanting to disappointing 'awws'.

It then quickly became apparent what had happened. That dastardly duck had missed out one of the family's tables in the other seating area, then as quick as 5 minutes, he was back, which again led to thunderous applause.

The Monster loved it. She grabbed his beak and clapped her hands as he wiggled round the room then posed for a photo. This was a really good idea to do, and were so happy as it was money well spent. Mollie particularly liked her grub!

I think this was one of my favourite days of the holiday, it was kind of laid back, even later in the day.

I finished with some fruit, whilst Mallinda moved on to the sausage and egg. After the breakfast, we went for a walk outside around the Beach Club and I don't know why but it was so refreshing. I always had this image of it being really posh people that stayed at these resorts who turned their noses up at the rest of us, but was pleasantly surprised to see it was normal every day families like us.

Some photos from the Beach Club.

Some Boardwalk ones thrown in for good measure.

We then headed of to Epcot Centre! (it'll always be Epcot Centre to me). It only took about 5 minutes to walk from the Beach Club to Epcot and there was pretty much no line to get in at the gate. It was quite mild today which I think helped ease us in to the parks better than yesterday.

Proud mum with the parasol that broke after 2 days!!!!

I fit in a couple of shots at the food and wine festival, and unfortunately again we miss out on trying any food for the 3rd year in a row...do manage to fit in some alcoholic beverages later in the holiday though. It's not that we didn't want to try any of the food, it was just usually we went in to Epcot in the morning or if we were in later in the evening, it was pretty heaving at the food stands.

I then see my mecca!!!!! As it was about 10:00am, I thought it was a tad early for a pint though :D

A quick shot around the World Showcase.

Then a random shot at Canada as if it was taken by a Canadian prowler!!!

I then moved on to Jurassic Park where to my amazement they decided to build a giant golf ball!

Another few shots of Epcot, with some Food and Wine details fitted in.

We then moved on to my absolute favourite shops in the World...Mouse Gear. I absolutely love this shop. It has everything in it and is always good for a good half hour or so looking around.

Not quite sure if I can rock this look yet!

Then off to the Fountain of Nations for a quick photo.

We then move on to another favourite haunt – Club Cool. I love trying all the different types of juice. I'm quite partial to the Mezzo Mix (Coke mixed with Orange).

Beverly on the other hand...

You just can't fake that look!

By this point, the Monster was kipped so we decided to have a cool off and walk through Innoventions where we stopped for a seat. There's just nothing quite like when you have a sweaty back and sit down on a cool metal bench, it's like sitting in an electric chair!

We then decide to head back and recharge before heading out later at night, so fit in some photos of POR and then have a quick rest in the room and let the Monster relax a bit.

We then decide to head out for a mid-afternoon/early evening jaunt at MK. It's a lot more enjoyable than the first attempt. The heat is more mild and the Monster is in a better mood.

No stroller for me, so I stand behind the barriers with some weird superiority complex, as Mallinda pushes in the beast!

MK is fairly quiet just now.

So we decide to head over to the Winnie the Pooh play park that the Monster would come to love throughout the trip:

We pick up a fast pass for Winnie the Pooh and let Mollie have a bit of a play about. We then decide to go over to Small World! Again, another of Mollie's favourites. We then head over to POTC for Mollie's first ever visit in HISTORY!!!!

We then head back to Pooh's ride then out the park for another fairly early night. Tomorrow we're meeting up with the parentals....
