Crowds! Crowds! Crowds!
Have been at DLR since Wednesday. The crowds on Wednesday were ok but unbearable the last 2 days . The TOT was sold out on Thursday and the lines were long for rides , candy, and characters. Atleast 30 min for every ride but most were closer to an hour the party only last 4 hours ! The party is not even close to MNSSHP and we were there on the night before Halloween last year . Parade , ride lines and tons more candy at WDW . My biggest complaint is about GRR . It's my DD6 favorite ride and we never got to ride! Hopped over to get a FP on Thursday but no FP that day do came to ride around 1:00 and it was over an hour and half wait but no FP!Came back at 3 and it was not running and was told it might be up before closing at 5 but it wasn't . Of course it isn't open during TOT. Returned at 10:45am and again it was down . Back every hour until we finally gave up at 3:00! The temp was 90 today and it was not working! Is it common for it to be down ? DD is so disapointed , we have park view at PP and she looks out the window and cries

Hi, so you attended the Halloween party on Thursday right? Is your day recap for Thursday or Friday the 16th? Which two days from your trip were unbearable?
We were there last week, Wednesday and Thursday were fine, but Friday and Saturday were insanely crowded, the park reached capacity on that Friday. I'm trying to figure out if there's a Friday + Weekend crowd pattern, I'm going again in a few days and I'm trying to convince our party to avoid going close to the weekend. |

Grim_Grinning_Girl, F, S, S is definitely more crowded. I read on another site that the electronic board coming off the freeway near Disneyland tonight read, "Disneyland Park sold out."
On nights when there is a MToT Party, Disneyland has reportedly been extremely crowded. We went Thursday night to have dinner and watch the fireworks and it was crowded, but not crazy crowded. HTH, Dreams

Wednesday was spectacular with the light rain, there were no lines to speak of until the evening when DCA closed, then it got crowded quickly! Thursday was crowded but ok and Friday we spent in DCA which was pretty full also, although I don't know what normal crowd levels are to compare it to. Friday with the heat and crowds it was not much fun for us and we left early. I wish it would have rained the whole trip! GRR was down much of the time we were there Friday also which was sad since it was so hot. We did ride it Thursday afternoon around 4 (sign said 45 minute wait but it was less than 30), it was one of my favorites!

I always plan my DLR trips away from major holidays, usually a month or two after Christmas so 1. it's not terribly crowded. 2. it's not super hot.
I'm sorry your trip was troublesome, hopefully next time will turn out better! ![]() Last time I went to DLR, HM was closed bacause of a delay going from holiday HM back to the normal version. I was disappointed, but atleast IJA and SM were open! |
