Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach... do you own?

Hi!
We are new owners at PBSB and are now trying to sort out what our salesman told us and reality, since we all know they are not the same!

Has anyone tried the "Suite Getaways" program where you let them "rent" out your week and you receive *taxable* rental income?

Our salesdude said we'd get around $2700 for a 1 bedroom unit each year we deposited into Suite Getaways... Huh.... I am starting to question that... but would love to hear from anyone who had experience...

Also, if you have deposited into RCI... how'd that go?

I heard you can't actually "bank" a week to save it for the next year, but you deposit it into RCI and then have to pay an exchange fee to RCI to use your own week!?

Thanks for any input at all from others who own at PBSB! Tell me even if you just use your week each year and how much you love it!

I'm not sure this thread quite belongs here, OP. You might get a better response over on the Orlando Hotels and Attractions forum, or the TUG Forum as vettechick suggests.

The only way you will ever come close to getting $2700 for you week is if you have a two bedroom Presidental and its week 51, 52 or 7. And with that you will maybe get $1200.00 maybe a bit more. Mexico sales people have been know to tell very TALL stories in order to sell a TS.

I work for a timeshare rental company and we deal with Suite Getaways. I can assure you, you will be very lucky to get $700.00 for your week.

When banking a week with RCI yes you will have to pay I believe $169.00 to book your new week. The prices may be different Im not sure.

Its a very nice resort but its one of those resorts thats a dime a dozen so its very easy to get low prices.

If you want to PM me I can tell you more.

Thanks for the responses!
Yes, I did also post this question on the TUG boards as well as the Timeshare Fourms boards.
No surprise, I got better response here!

Especially thanks for the info from nealymouse!

I just may take you up on that offer to PM you if I have other questions.

Again,

Stinasmom, Ask away on any questions. This is what I do all day long. Im fact I am the supervisor of the dept LOL.

I work for the largest timeshare rental department in the world and Mexico is very popular. Thats the hard part about it because there are so many TS resorts there (like Orlando) so its very easy to get weeks at very little cost.

Look into RCI its a great program for trading your week but you have to really stay on top of it in order to get great weeks. I think RCI is also what DVC uses for their trading program so you can use it for Disney!!!!
